I personally prefer the song that plays in the Volcano over this song.
Yeah, they pop up a lot in Mother 2. Not so much in Mother 3, but I think that Shogo Sakai was probably influenced by them a fair amount.
Never had the chance to play this one. I thought Earthbound was one of the best non-Square RPGs on the SNES with Lufia 2!

Such an awesome final dungeon. So many different things in the mix to make it an epic climb.
In the end, the balance between the whacky side and the more serious side comes from Pokey. Even at an old age, he's still a little kid inside and for him, everything he's doing is like a game. While he's having fun killing people and destroying the world as if they were toys, we see first-hand the direct and horrible consequences of his antics. I guess it really depends on the person, but to me this constant balance and conflict between both sides were brilliant.
i love this game's sense of humor. some parts are sad while some are funny..

I guess Itoi was right when he said the game could make you happy, sad, cry and laugh.
I really liked Porky's Tower with the different ridiculous floors (Hipp Floor, Bathroom Floor, Harem Floor etc.). A tower that ultimately leads you to much more serious end of a story. It's this balance between ridiculous/fun and serious/sad moments that make this series so good to me.
