I like how the Mother series has songs that can sound both happy and sad in an awesome way.
@gunslingerfry That would have been Final Fantasy VI, when it seemed like Kefka had won, with no possibility at all of anything else good. I don't think that moment was as powerful as what's in this game though (I was much younger when I played FFVI than M3, and thus it was easier to impress me). Yeah, I know, not really the game you'd expect, but it's the truth.
What I really love about Mother 3 is how emotionally impacting it is. I'm not even gonna get started on the main story / villains, but it really made you love all the characters. Everyone in Tazmilly Village was someone you knew, both in their defects and positive sides. You got to actually consider them as a person, instead of a bunch of pixels. Only 2 games have suceeded at making me cry, and Mother 3 is one of those games.
Mother 3 was an absolute masterpiece. I always think of it as the Grand Slam after 2 strikes compared to the other Mother games =P
@pirateludwig Well, being fair, they merged several similar tracks into one for the brawl version. I think they decided to title it after the one that made the recurring melody. And that decision was made by the developers, the developers that likely also worked on that very game... What I mean to say is: you're taking things a bit too seriously here...

man I frekin love the mother games, if only they would bring back the mother games and make an Earthbound 3: The final strike. Witch has all of the mother main characters fighting a super giygas morphed with the remains of porkey and starmen. That would be frekin awesome. But scary as porkey and them are, u know. ANYONE WHO WANTS TO MAKE THAT COMMENT ON ME PLZ!!!!!

I refuse to read this comment war because it'll make me all depressed again, so I'll say that if you had to add one more song, make it His Highness' Theme or Rock and Roll (Spicy).
This theme is what I always associate Mother with.
They can't "Get Around" it - they'd still have to make the payoffs... which could come to a really high price total. Keep in mind, Mother isn't quite as big as it might sound, it just has an exceedingly loud (and oftentimes obnoxious) fanbase. The question comes down to if it would be worth the time and money... and the fact there isn't a solid "yes" answer to that is probably what makes them hesitant.
Well, it did bring over Earthbound (Mother 2) originally - in modern times, however, copyright and trademark laws have gotten even more ridiculous and trying to release Earthbound again would be a potential can of worms. As for Mother 3, it's a GBA game - at this point, as the DSi doesn't support GBA game cartridges, it's basically too late and obsolete.

Ah yes. Shame this song only plays at the start of the game, it was my favourite version of the town theme.
