Did anyone else become *really* excited when a tough boss started slumping over?
Definitely felt pumped up when Marcy started to slump. I hated her IceBlast!

@Moses Isaiah B. Palces Seeing any of the dragons *finally* display a sign of injury was a real treat; at that moment, you gained a second wind before doubling your efforts to bring the fight to an end.

Great Battle Song!!! I still remember this from fighting those aquatic creatures at the opening of the game on the Beach.
This is actually the worst song from the game. It's actually quite annoying as a boss song. Chrono Trigger did a better job keeping the battle music more subtle.

True. But this is especially repetitive and annoying. Compare it to CT's battle theme which is repetitive but soothing to see what I mean. There's just too much going on in the song.

It sounded like they went a little bit over the top on this. I don't like things overdone too much, especially on music.
I mean it's just an opinion. *shrug* Unless it was truly a fact that has actual analysis and conclusion derived from a census of people.
The chanting. Love it so much that these battles end up going on forever.
Errr, sorry, that comment is fairly old. Kind of ironic actually, I'm usually the one that calls people out for referencing Squaresoft games as Square-Enix games. xD However I do agree, SE is nothing close to the RPG king that Squaresoft was.

I don't remember too much from this game other than some of the characters and the epic music. Yes I said epic, a term I try not to overuse.
Anyone else hear a bit of the final Jenova battle theme (FF7) in this?
I haven't even played this game yet but i'm loving the music. I only did beat Chrono Trigger few months ago and loved it, hopefully i can get to this one.

@omegaplib you can play it on a PSP. :) well yeah, since our PS console got broken, all of our fav. games couldn't be played, but PSP's such a life saver, you can now play PS games there!

I remember having a demo of this game, the opening of the demo would be you, kid, and one other random party member, coming up an elevator, and this song starts, and it's just hauling ass all throughout the demo. Shit was awesome.

Chrono cross is such an amazing game! It's so colorful, the characters are awesome, the music is fucking mind blowing! Definitely one of the best games ever made!!
So much about this game was great, it actually rotates as my favorite of all time, along with mario 3, Castlevania SOTN, and FF VI.

I just played this game and I still love them boss theme. Really gets you in the mood to beat the crap whoever your fighting.
The quality of this soundtrack still amazes me. Both in design and in recording.

Yeah, its really sad. I do Lets Plays and I have no intention of doing a walkthrough of a new Square game, they are so DULL. :[ its sad because SS made some great games, they were the company that introduced me into RPG's
This is really weird but does anyone else like the SE PS1 games better than the new games? I like the pre-render backgrounds a lot better...i dunno, the game seems to look nicer to me

for a game with such a good music i was really let down by the boss music, i dont think it's nearly as good as the FF's, but it's still pretty good

0:26-0:36 Is my favorite part of the song. Ya know, I need to start getting into some of these older RPG (PS1 era, especially) with music like this...
I thought it was amazing how there was no music for the final boss though!
I still think today, this game has the best soundtrack ever made in the history of videogames.
Aside from the normal battle music, the battle music in this game was well done. Final boss doesn't count though, since there's no music for it.

I've loved this song ever since I first played CC in 7th grade... good memories. There aren't many better boss themes, if any. Maybe "Force Your Way"? Decisive Battle? The Mystic Quest boss theme?
I love this song so much. Perfectly symbolizes a boss battle. I'm playing Chrono Trigger now. I need to fins Chrono Cross so I can play it.

Yeah, CC definitely had one of the best soundtracks on the PSX. Final Fantasy IX is probably the only game I played that had a soundtrack that matched it on that system.
