I'll admit I haven't played this game as much as I probably should, but this entire game's soundtrack is an absolute work of art. Mitsuda really outdid himself with this one.

I'll admit I haven't played as much of this game as I should have (I have the game, but don't play it all that often), but I absolutely love this game's soundtrack. At my last job, I'd just listen to the entire soundtrack multiple times. Yasunori Mitsuda is an amazing composer.

Yes, El Nido was an extension of all that in a way. An isolated instance in time of everything the Entity aka Lucca remembered that Robo was logged with. At least, that's how I see it.

I really hate the Chrono Cross ending. it's not bad, but the after ending i still have questions that weren't answered. and besides, it's a game that everybody hates it to finish.
Luckily it has +10 endings to choose from.

I really think that Chrono Cross has the best soundtrack out of the 2 Chrono games. The first one was really nice , but this one is even better. Such a beautiful work of art this soundtrack is.

A song that really reminds me of a news station is the game file screen music for Secret of Mana.
I just wish the game was finished. I could tell it was incomplete when I played, but it still was an unparalleled experience like Chrono Trigger was. It definitely feels more refined before the end of the game where the balance between story, action and gameplay was kind of weakened.

I loved Chrono Cross as well simply because of its music and atmosphere, but there's no denying that it had tons of fault because Squaresoft didn't allow the producer to complete the game - this game was left at 75% because they decided to cut funding for it. Look it up.

This song have been one of my absolute favorites. The epic feeling you get from it is overwhelming, it's impossible to match it. The soundtrack from this game is the only one I got so many favorites. If I would pick my top 20 VGM's, I could easily fill the whole list with only Chrono Cross songs without thinking that a single song didn't deserve to be there, and no kidding here, I've been thinking that a lot. My second favorite OST gotta be the Wild Arms series though
I like how this theme is perfect for voyaging across the sea AND it's the perfect theme song for a news station. XD

@majicodemejico chrono cross is definitely the game chrono trigger was trying to be, i'm so glad the dream came to a realization at the playstation era and although it's sad there won't be anymore, i can see how they stopped with cross. chrono cross was THE game, chrono trigger was a stepping block to that game.

I ended up getting my hands on the Chrono Cross soundtrack. It's beyond awesome listening to that on an Ipod in public as people go about their humdrum activities. Everyone should try to get there hands on it, a must have if you have ears.

To all those who argue and get into heated conversations regarding which game is superior aesthetically and artistically, regarding substance and material (gameplay, the story/narrative, graphics, replayability) - let me ask you this: Does Square (formerly Squaresoft now Square Enix) ever dissapoint? My childhood (am now 17) was defined by a few games - yet none had the emotional and psychological impact as "Kingdom Hearts" (Grand Theft Auto III as well).
How come when i'm on any crono trigger or crono cross video i see comparisons between the 2 games? they were both AMAZING games. and they were made by the same people. so stop argueing about it!

You have to read a compendium to really see the links between the games. :/ I'm glad people can appreciate Chrono Cross, but personally, I did not like the gameplay too much. Most characters were lifeless and redundant and the battle system felt really boring and unnecessary. OST and Story are top notch, but the rest didn't cut it for me. :[

CT was and is a far superior game. It's storyline actually made sense. It was because of the subpar nature of CC that it was linked to CT to boost sales - their stories are completely separate and they should have never attempted to link them as the link does not make any sense whatsoever.

Sub-par criticism can hardly give Chrono Cross or Chrono Trigger any justice. Chrono Trigger was far from being sub-par when it came out. Even now it stands apart in the way it gives players a sense of timelessness, which coupled with its incredible graphics, storyline, gameplay, and music make it one of the best games ever. However, that doesn't mean I won't pay homage to Chrono Cross, as it has everything you mentioned. It just feels pointless to compare the two, when both games are so good.

....CT DID come before CC, besides, without CT, there would be no CC...
Although only 16-bit, CT, FFIII, and Secret of Mana were revolutionary in music and rpg gameplay at the time.
Ask it on this video, everyone will say CC. Ask it on a FF7 video, 99% will say FF7.
Chrono trigger gameplay was levels above chrono cross. It's system was far more intuitive and fun to access. if you play chrono trigger and then move onto cross, CC is generally a disappointment in terms of gameplay and system.

Chrono Cross' soundtrack is the pinnacle of video game music.
I think this is the song Underworld picked as his #1 travelling theme. It really gives you the feel of just sailing off into the ocean and leaving all your cares behind :)
