I have never really taken notice of the melody at this part of the game. It sounds just hauntingly beautiful, with a very wooden sort of taste to it. I hear a lot of nostalgia in this too, (almost as if the trunk of the tree is whispering it out). I think of a log cabin in Autumn when I hear this though. A very cloudy, grey and windy day, nothing interesting.

The series always has good music, but the music for OoT was beyond great. Everything fit the setting or what Link was doing perfectly. As for the game itself, its one of the best games I have ever played. A masterpiece.

True, that Forest Temple is a masterpiece. That moment with the twisted corridor... It will always remain as one of the most surprising things I've seen in any video game. And that dungeon boss... Genius.
This would be so peaceful if I didn't hear plants and spiders attacking me all the time in my head :P

For a while now I've felt this track could use more love.
I'm playing less and less videogames, but the way that a track like this can bring back so many memories, images, is haunting. Please, this is more than an "ambience thing", this is a story told by sound

I can't really consider this "music" exactly, its more like an ambiance kind of thing. Sorta like wind chimes clanging around in the wind.

Always nice to give this game a run-through every couple of years.
First heard this when I was eight. Completed the game probably a dozen times, yet I can still pick it up at any time and play for hours without getting bored. People talk about nostalgia but, with certain games from my childhood, I've kept playing them over the years. The feeling isn't so much nostalgia, but *total* familiarity with the worlds inside, which is possibly even more special considering it's all just waves bouncing into your eyes and ears.
in terms of predictions that just leave Mother 3, EarthBound and Chrono Trigger. there's only room for 2 more and we're all certain EB and CT will be the next two. though I'm still holding out for Mother 3 to make it in anyway, maybe as a joint upload with EarthBound like he did with Shenmue 1 & 2
That's how it's always been. Most games that have come out in ANY generation were bad to mediocre, with some diamonds in the rough.

I wonder if we'll ever get genius games like the games made in the 90s pouring out again in the future... Most Indie Games are pretty amazing, but sadly I feel big development companies only give one great game in ten mediocre ones.
Ocarina of Time is a great game. But I always felt most other Zelda games I've played were better.

Well, I got the first guess for top three right. I'm guessing Earthbound and Chrono Trigger are probably 2 and 1.
My favorite of the series is Majora's Mask, if only because of the surreal atmosphere and the mature themes present throughout. It's highly experimental in tone, story and gameplay, and it payed of massively. The world is also completely fleshed out with characters who aren't just stationary, but moves around and lives their own lives. Your actions influence the world and its inhabitants in a meaningfull way. Pure magic.
the only thing i question is, that with all the music from the wild arms series, they were eerily nowhere to be found. but i totally agree in thinking earthbound 2 chrono trigger 1. coincidentally, that is my exact order (Secret of Mana as my #3)
After i graduate from college, this game will be the first game i will play. I have played some of it, but i am probably not even a quarter of the way through the game. I already love the music and the gameplay is rich and fulfilling. Like Mario 64, it is absolutely amazing that Nintendo got their first 3D Zelda game right on the first try and i also think that of all the Zelda games composed by Kondo, this game is his crown and jewels along with Link to the Past.
This game is never going to get old. I could play it over 100 more times and it would still grab a piece of myself just as when it did the first time I played it. This game is definitely not straying far away from the top (or close to it) of peoples (and websites') lists of best games ever any time soon. I want to see Nintendo match, nay, surpass this perfect work of art. Same goes with Super Mario 64. (How daunting that task may sound).
LttP is my favorite, with OoT as my 4th. Still I'm surprised yet again! Namely because previously you had said I remember that Twilight Princess was your favorite 3D Zelda. Ah well, it's been a great list. Why do I say that now? Because I think at this point we can all guess your top 2(maybe not the order), they're guarenteed due to your constant praise, having said they're your favorites of all time, both being X00 spots, and having the top 2 most tracks uploaded. Chrono Trigger and Earthbound.
Everyone's favourite Zelda, and I see it's yours also! Personally, my favourite in the series is Twilight Princess, with one of the reasons being that it did what Ocarina of Time did, only better. Better music, better gameplay, better dungeons, better narrative, better tone, just all-around better. Even the remake of this song in TP is better in my opinion.

It's as adult Link that the game stands apart. The first temple as adult Link, the Forest Temple, is my favorite in the series: a masterpiece inside a masterpiece. As Peer Schneider from IGN said, regarding his favorite Zelda moment: "It’s the feeling when you first step into the Forest Temple and eerie music starts to play; when you untwist corridors; when you just stand in the middle of the room and marvel at the flawless way this entire temple comes together functionally and narratively.".
LA has my favorite overworld and TP has my favorite dungeons, but Ocarina of Time is nearly flawless in both departments. I chose to upload the first dungeon's theme (Deku Tree) because as ambient and non melodic it is, it still manages to be ingrained in my brain. I said this with TP's upload, but dungeons are what make this series for me: you feel like you're stepping inside a deep Metroid-like level, full of mysterious challenges ahead and always relieved when you step back outside.
With this upload, I think it's safe to say that Zelda is my favorite video game franchise of all time. I do have quite a lot of nostalgia for this title, but not as much as other titles (like Mario 64, for example). It's when I replayed this game for the 5th+ time on the 3DS very recently that it convinced me: it's my favorite game in the series, I can't keep it tied with Link's Awakening or even Twilight Princess, which was the case for a long while.
