I'll say right here: F-Zero is the hardest racing series out there. And the funnest as well.
@NYCrazyRob Actually my good man, you just need to beat all the story mission on Hard to unlock him...which itself is pretty damn, well, hard.

@SupraDarky Yeah, definitely not your fault. I played this game a lot years ago and don't remember ever hearing some of the themes (probably because I really only used 1 or 2 characters). Thanks again for all the variety. I'm going to have to go play this one again really soon.

Okay, this is kind of a stretch, but from 0:57 to 1:01 I got this huge vibe of familiarity; for a while I couldn't place it, but ultimately I realized it oddly reminded me of (even though it's clearly not overly similar to) a part of the song Time's Scar from Chrono Chross. Listen to that part and then to Time's Scar, and you'll eventually hear the part I'm talking about, maybe? Or maybe I've just been listening to SupraDarky's playlists waaaaaay too much....

Spade was a hidden character, unlockable only after beating a certain story mode chapter on Very Hard then buying him in the shop. Maybe you didn't unlock him?
This track is great. I like it alot. I have F-Zero GX but I don't remember this song being in that game. How could I have missed it?
GXs music was great, but I liked X's better. It was more metal rather than techno.
Minus the flute part towards the end, it sounds like music from the PC game Tyrian.

It's definitely not intentional, it probably has to do with the fact that you hear the battle/level themes a lot more, which in turn makes you remember them more, nostalgia and all. Series like FF have great character themes though.
Ahh, love this one, Spade is one of the more interesting characters. It's a shame none of them are ever fleshed out- even Captain Falcon is quite flat. I'd love the next big F-Zero release to go into more depth.
