Personally? Wild Arms 1 has the best OP OST. I haven't, ever, ever, found something else that comes close, aside from Elemental Saga old and sweet RPG. Another nice old game OST is maybe Red Moon?

Wild Arms is perhaps the only videogame which can compete against CT for the title of "best videogame OST ever". This song is another example.
+Carlos Pozo Very true. I am playing through Chrono Trigger right now, and I was thinking the exact same thing. Two magnificently evocative OST's.
I would also suggest Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore and the Suikoden series (PSX).
Carlos Pozo personally I think Chrono Cross has the better soundtrack

@ReHawkNRoll Wild Arms is a great RPG. Its puzzles are amazing yet you can figure them out without any guide or paranoid (except for the damm treasures...). Also the secrets are quite rewarding. And the music... ohh the music...
Wild Arms, so many memories. Simpler times and imo better times to be a gamer that wanted quality games of any kind.

Love this game for two reasons: the music and Boomerang.
The 3rd game's still my fave, but I've seen the appeal of this one by watching a playthrough.
Wild arms is easily one of the ten best soundtracks i have ever listened to. It is my favorite soundtrack in the series, but i have yet to listen to Alter Code f, 3, and 4. It also goes to show how underrated Naruke is as a composer.

I bought this back when it was brand new over a used copy of Persona knowing nothing about it and instantly fell in love with it. It's a shame it was overshadowed by FF7.

One of the best soundtracks ever
A short but memorable track from one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. The first Wild Arms is probably in my Top 50, mostly due to the music, the great story, Lufia-style dungeon puzzles and lots of nostalgia. It's with this game that I first really noticed how big of a role good music played in video games.
