I never got to play this game as a kid when it came out.... in Target stores.... in the SNES Case. </3 I only played it on an emulator. One of my favorite games to this day.

It took me a while to realize that this is a sped-up, RPG battle music-style version of the music that plays when a town is under siege by the Smithy Gang.

It's hard to decide between this and A link to the past for my favorite SNES game but, I think I prefer ALttP a bit more =P. This game is still pure awesomeness tho!

The Axem Rangers are difficult... I took out the black, pink, green, yellow, then red in that order. The yellow was by far the hardest since he keeps using body slam as a counterattack!!

@duckypwns This was far to simplistic a game for it to be independent of a big name. Don't get me wrong, I love the Hell out of it. I just don't think I would've exercised my interest had it not had my favorite overall-wearing plumber.

@cryptonomicon25 I played the game about 8 years ago; it was already getting rare then, glad I was given a copy so generously. Hell, I was only ten, I didn't even know what I was getting. But boy, did I love it.

@Flairon85 I love both games, but Mario RPG is something that you had to play when it first came out to really appreciate it. It was definitely more "Final Fantasy" like (it was developed by Squaresoft, after all) while TTYD felt like more of a Mario game. Maybe it's just my nostalgia talking, though.

Oooh... This really throws me back to when I was still small enough to sit under the table to play my SNES with the smell of supper being cooked in the background... I really struggled against Bowyer as a kid, and I remember hearing that tune over and over again for about 4 or 5 evenings of trying to beat him before supper was ready. It's a little odd for this precise memory to come back to me now, but it's the first thing I think of when hearing this. =) STATIC E!

Finally played through this game a few weeks ago on VC. Really nice game, but I prefer Paper Mario: The thousand-year door over this one. It had a much more complex and refined battle system and the different worlds were just more fun. Just my opinion ;) Nevertheless a great game with great music!

I have to admit...this was the VERY first RPG I ever played. I just didn't get it at first. Then later I played Final Fantasy VII and the memories came back and I said to myself.."Ahhhh..NOW I understand."

Certain games are so incredible, that to have the majority of its songs as favourites is never sufficient. Games like this one or Chrono Trigger should deserve having THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK uploaded in homage... The masterpiece in its integrity!
