Its pretty hard to believe how THIS was on a chip similar to the Sega Genesis, yet it has the same level of quality as the SNES, heck, maybe even more! Dont underestimate the Yamaha chips, people. XD

It's a visual novel from elf. They also made Yu-No and it's one of the best games in the genre.

Visual novels are not based on novels. They are stories told with text and graphics, hence the visual

@maxemidian Yep. Same composer.
@Juan Valencia While Grounseed does share the same composers as YU-NO (Ryu Umemoto (RIP) and Ryu Takami), the game is not by elf. It's actually developed by another company by the name of Studio Twinkle. Furthermore, Grounseed is more of an RPG than visual novel, even though it does have VN elements like drawn cutscenes.
And particularly the main composers are flipped in regard to both games. The main composer in Grounseed is Ryu Takami while Ryu Umemoto only did a couple of tracks. In Yu-No it's the other way around, Ryu Umemoto is the main composer and Ryu Takami only worked on a couple of tracks.

Been listening to this game's soundtrack quite a lot since I discovered it, it's full of great beats. I spent a nice relaxing weekend in a cottage with friends, playing games, watching movies, eating and taking nice walks in the snow. Good for the body and the mind!
