How did sony end up always taking the best rpg series from nintendo?
Having played a lot of RPGs from the late SNES-early PS1 period, I think it can partly be explained by a progression towards larger and more content-filled RPGs. By the end of the SNES lifecycle, RPGs were evolving towards having longer stories, more cutscenes, greater complexity and overall more content (more complex gameplay, mechanics, minigames, longer soundtracks, etc.). The fact that the PS1's CDs offered loads more space (initially 650 MB) than the 4-16 MB cartridges on the N64 (for comparison, the biggest RPGs on the SNES, Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean were *48 MB* ) meant that there was loads more room for new storytelling and design tools, most prominently Full Motion Video and other uses of CGI. Square Enix in particular is a prime example of an RPG developer who chose the PS1 before the N64. The fact that the PS1 came out a year earlier and the games in general sold cheaper than N64 games probably also meant that sales were considered better on the PS1, which probably helped Sony in the long run.

Forest themes in RPGs are always nice.
It seems to be a very common thing that Forest Themes are usually very good. I bet you could make a long list of enjoyable Forest Themes.

I think that I perhaps prefer the Forest Theme from BoF2, but this one's got a very nice tune to it.
Yeah, it's turn-based. The battle system seems pretty basic to me. It's not bad. I play it more for the storyline and the characters than for the battles. XD Someone else might be able to give you a better opinion, though.
They put a lot of feeling in the music in this game, maybe too much, some jazzy track and the instrumentation are just inappropriate But it's a masterpiece. Bun Bun work on it too with Shimomura. Breath of Fire is my favorite rpg serie. The second was my first and i like how they innove in Dragon Quarter to bring to us another experience. A great experience thought.
I haven't played this game, but I've heard a little of it - and I do recognize the name. I also know that it's some RPG game too. Is it turn based, or?... how is the combat system?

Interesting song, Feels like they are trying to put a heavy atmosphere with a foggy feeling. Doesn't reach all way, but damn close. ^^
