Why does Sega-CD Jessica's sprite look like an old granny?
I know that; I was referring more to her character model. Her portrait is... mostly true to her design, aside from some odd color choices (overly dark skin and teal robes), but her character model in the overworld and battle sequences looks really off. They gave her grey hair for some reason.
I believe it was due to the fact the Sega CD had a strange / limited color pallet. The entire game has a rather dark color-scheme. They seemed to fix most of the issues with Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, that is, until you look at the Menu and it's very puke-green color.

Yup, Nall was the baby dragon. I thought he just pulled you out of battle when you go down. He didn't bring you back to life.
I really love this theme and the game, so intense as always with Noriyuki Iwadare. I want Game Arts to make another great RPG like Lunar or Grandia (favorite game of all time).

With all of the remakes of Silver Star Story Complete out there, I wonder why none of these developers/publishers have included the original game or released it as a stand alone.

Far superior to SSSC's battle theme they swapped for it. Although SSSC is the best version of the original Lunar hands down.

It is very anime. I've never watched NGE so I wouldn't know, but it's definitely in that genre.
Sadamoto ( artist of Eva) could have been inspired by Lunars art, as it was originally a 1992-94 game series
Lunar Silver Start Story Complete's theme music is much different from Lunar The Silver Star.
I want the SSSC battle theme. That one rocks.
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete came with 4 discs (2 game 1 OST and 1 making of, track list wasn't given at time of release) and a cheese cloth map and a hardcover manual (which I think hasn't been done before or since after Lunar 2) Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete came with: 4 discs (2 game, 1 OST, 1 making of), an Omake box that had lucia's pendant and some character token thingies and a hardcover manual. The map wasn't cheesecloth :( also pre-orders got a punching Ghaleon Puppet :D

This is one of those series I wish I got into. I didn't have the money/systems/games so I never did. Maybe one day, the music seems like a good enough reason.
Buying Lunar was like purchasing a whole hive of toys - If I recall, it came with a medallion, a soundtrack, at least one poster, and maybe even another piece of literature? Lunar was huge. Game was epic good too.
yeah but skies of arcadia had flying pirates and crap so I don't think it counts as generic.
I'd have to say that by playing all the versions of Lunar: Silver Star for many years, I'd have to say that the Sega CD version was the best of them all. It had more memorable music and events. The PSX changes were a bit nice but in the end didn't sit too well with me. Maybe it's because I played the Sega version first. The only thing I liked more in the PSX version was the Lyrical Music, which was quite impressive. Now, Lunar 2 is quite a different story and one I wish not to get into.

If you head to a flea market or even a gamestop, you should be able to pick up a Ps1 for very cheap. and im curious as to why ive been downgraded so much on my previous comment. the GBA port altered the story, ommited the animated cutscenes, the intro movie, the spoken dialogue, about 50% of the original story/gameplay....it was a decent attempt with the available hardware of the GBA, but in comparison it just doesnt hold a candle.
But...but...I have no PS1/PS2/whatever. :(

aww, the GBA port sucked! seruously go out and find the PS1 copy Lunar :Silver Star Story Complete, my favrite game of all time. the GBA licks balls in comparison.

Yeah but he was comparing Sony and SEGA hardware ;). There is like 3 years release time, so that was what I was aiming at. To show to that guy that his precious PSOne was alot newer machine wise ;).

that was aq remake ya idiot, when this was made there where no Saturn and PSone's. THe Saturn version is also better then this, but gee what things are you comparing a souped up dual processor 16 bit system with full fledged (for that time) next gen systems.

.... ok the same damn guy played him in both. also his voice was whinier in the sega saturn dont beleive me? look up the scene where ghaleon kills quark. He sounds like a chick. I used to think the sega cd one was better but thats because i hadent played it since i was about 5. after replaying it i get much more feeling and character depth in the remake, well for silver star story that is.
Personally, I didn't think this game was that impressive, the psx remake was much better. Lunar eternal blue on sega cd, NOW that was something. You'd be surprised on how good that one was, even while being compared to the psx remake.

I love lunar. I bought the one for the sega cd when I was 16 and the psx version when it first came out. I LOVED the sega cd music but when I played the psx version I kinda felt like I was cheated...I kinda wanted that same feeling about that game I had when I was 17, now 30..this post brings back alot of memories.
I never played Silver Star, but I did play Silver Star Story Complete for the PSX. The battle music is a COMPLETELY different song, so I assume the entire soundtrack is different. I wonder how the soundtracks compare? Because, SSSC had a damn good soundtrack.
