The rare today doesnt even have the same talented developers they had in the 90's. I heard they shifted to work at Retro studio's which is owned by Nintendo. They should buy the Banjo kazooie IP instead.

Imagine if Rare was bought by Nintendo instead of Microsoft. Then there would probbably be a lot more Banjo games that were good!

Funny how these games are remembered. But I can't even remember the story line of a lot of the Xbox and PS3 games I have played. Maybe because they are just shooting. The same old same old *snoo0o0o0ore*

@scettzvill I think the real reason it feels like a Mario 64 clone is that the game used the same engine as Mario 64.

Out of what I like to call "The four last good old-school platformers", these being Mario 64 B-K, B-T and CBFD, this one is my favourite. I don't think I've had more fun with a platformer ever since my first time on Mumbo's Mountain.

@XxGonixXFAN jiggy's not jinjos, read closely. and you right, i did forget to mention the notes and moves (not to mention the mumbo skull tokens). though the eggs and feathers are pretty standart/trivial things if only used when needed.
@scettzvill Ugh, you're mistaken here. Jinjos are not collected in Mario, but the stars are and those can relate to jiggies. You also forgot about NOTES and the different powerups they get, eggs and feathers plus moves. Once beaten a stage, you do not save anyone but get 1 stage closer to saving Tooty. Although the last part was well written

The horn kinda reminds me of the one in the FF8 OST...don't remember the name of the song. I think it's the occupied town or prison song...

the only reason i can think of that makes this feel like a "mario 64 ripoff" is that they are both platform games. the main goal is pretty much the same in both games, collect stars/jiggy's in each level to advance to the next level to beat a boss to save a kidnapped person. al in al banjo-kazooie, mario 64 and concker's bad fur day are great games.
get it for live arcade or get an n64
Conker is nothing like Mario 64 IMO. Banjo does have simularities, but I think it was alot more zany with crazy music thats just awesome.
It didn't really feel like Mario to me at all.
I love how some characters from, Diddy Kong Racing received their own games. Banjo got the Banjo-Kazooie series and Conker got his... Odd franchise.
I never liked this game. Too tedious, having to do all of that collecting. It felt like a Mario 64 rip off. The only Mario 64 rip off that I liked was Conker's Bad Fur Day

What are they waiting for. Nintendo needs to put Donkey Kong 64 and GoldenEye on the VC. Those games are some of the best in VG History and they need to be more widely available to peole.

The music definitely fit this game 100% perfectly; it created the perfect mood for the game
DK64 will show up on the VC since Nintendo owns all of the rights to it.
