I have never played a Wild Arms game, but I could recognize it as a theme from Wild Arms on the first note. It's very cool how Wild Arms have its own distinct style in music.
Gone were those days where Video game ost = EPICNESS... we are getting crap now a day except for a few good remakes.. *sigh*....

I love this theme.
This was one of the good pieces in the game. Most of the soundtrack falls short of the standards set by the first one. The game itself is great though.

I just recently got this game on psn, and I LOVE the game ( and this track. )
Wild arms 2. I've only played this and 3. Both are great games... 2 being one of my favorites right next to FF8. An amazing with an amazing sound track.
I remember accidentally scratching up my copy of the original Wild Arms game, and searching all over about a 40 mile radius for the original. KB Toys had this game, so I grudgingly gave it a shot. I love it, still play it to this day, and actually prefer it over the original. <3

Huh, funny, today I found myself in madamminalost's position. I just now bought a copy of the first Wild Arms game. I hope I enjoy it at least have as much as you, Supra!
The remake of the first one for the PS2 is really really good too
I love this overworld theme so much. It gives off this great feeling of proudness and accomplishment; times will be tough, but you can get through them with pride.

This game has the best soundtrack out. I love the main theme when it's remixed. Like in Disc 2 when they find out Ashley is actually coming back and it's played slow with Piano.
2 is one of my fave games of all time tied for first with ff8. I was sad early on when you had no wa2. BUt now that you have some I want to play it so badly. Ah nostalgia
The game sucks, but I love the music!
I once got stuck on this game for a looooong time (several years) and stopped playing. I was near the end of the 2nd disc. A few months ago I found it and played it after years of not using my old PS1, and finally finished it. After the credits, the console blacked out and stopped working. When I went to repair it, I was told the console was unusable since its chips had already been completely burnt for at least a month before. Wild Arms 2 is just THAT good.

I had to download this game because last Summer I beat Wild Arms 3 and I was like "fuck yeah i'm going to play the second one over again" I got to the part where Ashley and Lilica bust Brad out of the prison island and my PS2 stopped reading my PSX games ):
Same goes to me! I only played until disc 1 because disc 2 was broken. Never played it again until 4 months ago and I finished the game!

@Batou2006 It's HILARIOUS you mention this. I kid you not, I literally bought WA2 and FF8 at the same time. I walked out of the store with both of them. And while at this point I've ended up loving them both just about equally, at that time I played WA2 a looooooot more to start with. It was SO addictive.

I love these games' music. They sound so Japanese while still having a really strong Wild West feel to them. The music is already great on its own but when put together with games with this kind of setting, it gets really immersive.
i downloaded this song in an acoustic version when i was really young not knowing what it was and here it is again! Glad I went back to listen to some of your favourites, now I can listen to this all the time as short as it is_^)

Have to respond to that, YES! love both series, but CT is #1. And yes, for most games I enjoy more than any of the others, the music does have a strong lot to do with it.
(head/desk) begorrah. Sorry! I haven't played Chrono trigger yet.... (makes note) maybe I'll get to it when I'm done with WA. (or sooner. I'm running out of DS games) But, again, thank you for introducing alot of new gamers to these old classics.
WA is one of my favorite games yes, but not my #1! That goes to Chrono Trigger. :) It is however the game that made me pay attention to music more!
Well hte music is part of the reason why I'm playing it. Well, that and the fact I saw it and went "That' SupraDarky's Favorite game! Let's buy it!" My brothers looked up the info and called me a weirdo. But yeah, this one on PSN, Castlevania, and probably a few more since then I'll play because you mentioned them.
Because of you I'm playing WA over the summer off of PSN. My brothers think I'm weird. But after finding all sorts of games off of yuor channel I want to play games that I hadn't heard of.
I find some of the best music and games r the older ones, they made them for people who had more patience. Nowadays theres not much story line to most of them.
For me it went: WA3, WA4, Alter code F, WA5. I'd recommend starting with WA3 too, since it's got the traditional battle system. WA4 and 5 have the HEX battle system, which is good too.
That's a very tough question! It really depends on your level of patience. I'd say the easy answer would be to simply play them in order. It might sound stupid, but you might want to watch a video or two of a typical WA battle and see if you could go through that, it's very old school. If not, then I'd recommend WA3 as your first game in the series and go from there if you like it.
Of course you hear a resemblance; it's the same composer, the music is coming from the same brain, so there's bound to be some "common elements" either melodically, rhytmically or harmonically (??), or just in the instruments used (they're similar in all games on these older systems like PS)! I don't know why some dum-dums thumbed you down; I'm giving you 2 thumbs up :)
A lot of people I know didn't really enjoy this game all so much as the story didn't seem to connect at any point in any way. It was almost as if like 4 or 5 people wrote ideas down and they put them all together without actually trying to link them. Like, what ever happened to Liz and Ard? What do the robots have to do with anything? Either way I loved the game and the music is totally radical. The japanese intros were super cool too.
Wild Arms 2 had one of the most catchy intro songs in any series. This field theme is also good but the opening song is still burned into my brain and I haven't played the game in years.

Hmmm I'll be honest with you, I don't hear any ressemblance! Maybe it's the whistle, but then again the first game uses something more like a flute (or a synth whistle). It's probably just something to do with the way Michiko Naruke builds her tracks, but then again the first game's overworld theme is basically "Ecstasy of Gold v2.0". :P
