Stickerbush Symphony is super overrated and I think this deserves way more praise than it. Stickerbush is still pretty good, don’t get me wrong, but I always found Forest Interlude to be so much more beautiful and mystical. Thats just my opinion 😄

Never cease to amaze me the fact that this was made in a SNES. David Wise managed to make masterpieces with the obvious limitations of that time.
Another serious feat by a great composer (Tim Follin) is the title track on the NES game Solstice. After 8 seconds of that tune it basically turns to something that could be considered Yes influenced.

I remember so many good moments, nights playing this game with my brother when I had no idea how fucked up life is. I can even hear the kremlin's screams. It's incredible how music is so powerful, it can transport you to a different place. David Wise is a motherfucking genius.

Então tu vive em uma boa geração para jogar video games, pois além de ter acesso a games mais fácil, você pode curtir o melhor da geração atual e das gerações passadas.
O começo dos anos 2000 foram os melhores, topper era assistir Cavalheiros dos Zodiaco na Band e depois assistir Dragon Ball na globo. Chama os amigo e jogar um Donkey Kong no nintendo.
Um dos meus primeiros videogames foi um Super Nintendo (isso em 2003!), eu não ligava muito pra gráficos, e sim pra diversão que o jogo proporcionava. DKC2 veio junto com o SNES (junto com Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, aquela romhack do "Picachu", Captain Commando e Futebol Brasileiro 96, bons tempos...). Bate uma baita nostalgia quando escuto essa música de novo... Enfim, acho que o início dos anos 2000 foi uma grande época pros videogames, pelo menos aqui no Brasil.

Let's be honest - I couldn't be more nostalgic about DKC2, it's my favourite game together with OoT since back then when it got released! Still, after spending 40-50 hours with DKCTF when it got released in 2014 (played it three times in a row, even once hard mode, though that was not a good idea xD ), I had to be honest to myself - that game is better than DKC2! It is so creative and polished, and there is a technical advance of about 20 years compared to the old trilogy! They couldn't do levels like that back then and though the ones from DKC2 are awesome, the ones from DKC5 just surpass them in many ways imo - the amount of detail and the endless creative ideas make it not only the best DKC game, but also the best 2D JNR ever imo. Though DKC2 still stays my favourite because of this huge nostalgic memories I have with it. ;) But Retro Studios have done an awesome job and I hope there will be new DKC games in the future...wouldn't mind a new 3D DK either.

Apparently they are supposed to be crocodiles like all the other Kremling Kuthroat based enemies in this game but apparently they died but despite being dead still retain a strong loyalty to K. Rool. I am guessing Gloomy Gulch is the opposite of the Lost World. Where as the Lost World is a place of birth for K. Rool's followers Gloomy Gulch is a place of death. I mean this is where you fight Krow for the second time and despite his lack of a body he still is willing to put up a fight as a vengeful spirit. Poor Krow. He just lost twice. Doesn't help that he is the second to last (or third to last if you are going for 100 percent) boss of the game. He really was giving it his all to make sure the Kongs don't reach K. Rool's Keep.

What I love of the SNES is its HUGE amount of memorable OSTs that its games have: Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Tales of Phantasia, Donkey Kongs, Final Fantasy 6, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, and the list goes on.

Anyone else here love the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon soundtrack, especially all of the sad songs and the final boss track: Dialga's fight to the finish. It's even better when you know the build up to the ending.

So fucking true! It fully captures the atmosphere of the game in every area! I've beaten that game way more than any other game EVER, at least 20 times. Not even exaggerating. My best run was 57 mins and 40% collection (I used an emulator that could rewind for that, but still thats quite alright). I did get the best ending on the original console though, and that was before I knew exactly where to go and the best way to go through it.

Absolutely right. I recently got the old SNES out and played DKC1, and beat the whole game in just over 2 hours. Then I stuck in DKC2 and remembered how much tougher it was. They're both really fun, but DKC2 is definitely for the advanced player. The music is awesome too!

"DKC2 is by far the best". how dare you. say : "in my opinion, blah blah blah." coz although i prefer the music in this game, i prefer DKC 3 overall because i prefer the levels and i like the fact that you could collect all the different boats and drive around and do figure 8s in the water with the boats. i dont think the music in 3 isnt that bad either! it has the tree theme and the mountain theme! and DKC2 i find easier. the animal antics is so easy
The locations just weren't varied enough la, and the music was done by an entirely different composer who made it sound far too playful compared to the previous two. Amazing how much BGM impacts your memory as a young'un and you don't realise it til...well...now.
The best DK in my opinion. It brings me sad but good mememories...So hard to describe it...Makes me sad and happy at the same time to listen to their soundtrack. :(
I stopped at the final boss when I got to him, tried a few times and haven't thought to turn it on in a year. Why haven't I finished this game yet!! Biggest regret ever, get the priorities straight!!

I believe its just not as loved as the rest of them. It has a weaker sound track, you dont get to play as Diddy or Donkey, and it is not entirely linear, which is a weird deviation for games of those type. Its not bad, its just not as good as DKC2

If enough people haven't said to at this point, YES. DKC2 is by far the best of the three SNES DKC games; 3 might have a bigger scope, but 2 is way harder and much more satisfying to complete, and everything about it is awesome.

By then though most of Rare's best staff had moved on, Microsoft had no idea and bought into a brand thus got royally conned; Nintendo probably already realized this when they considered letting the studio go. Nintendo aren't stupid enough to let go of a multi-million seller unless they knew it was worth less. Rare is still trying to figure out it's focus today, it's turned into a mass market casual appeal company when before they made balls hard games like DKC2 and Golden Eye.

I loved this game so much. The music is right on par. The levels were challenging and fun everytime. It was so rewarding to beat. Nowadays games get so boring i put them down if I don't enjoy the single player. I haven't even touched Halo Reach's single player stuff.
