Even if this might be my least favorite 3D Zelda game, I feel like it's getting more bad rep than it deserves. It's still a very solid game with some memorable sections, my favorite being the Lanayru zones and some great dungeons like the Ancient Cistern. I still find Skyloft to be the best town hub in the series. I do have to admit that it's too easy and there were some very tedious sections as well, mainly outside dungeons and the horribly repetitive Imprisoned battles.

That was the first zelda with an actually craft system and many things to buy with your money^^. Always bothered me in prior zelda when I reached my max in rubies and had nothing to do with those. I actually like this game,not my favourite but there was some really nice ideas in the characters and world building, things you don’t find much in breath of the wild

For me I loved it's art style but the completely linear gameplay and the underwhelming sky environment really hurt it. A real lack of memorable characters too.

Agreed. I specially liked the inventory management, the crafting system and the little storyline with the Item Storage girl, Peatrice, to the point in which I was ready to dump Zelda and not save her. For me, the biggest problem was when you have to perform a slice in an exact direction, since I always needed half a dozen attempts. Fortunately it's only needed in like 90% of the game >___>

SupraDarky Just recently replayed this. I would say they underused the sky environment and the sword controls were far from polished. I loved some of the side characters though. Groose, the item girl, Batreaux the bat guy. Figuring out who's who btwn past and future was fun too.

SS has one of the best dynamics between Link and Zelda though, and in general a great story. If it didn't make motion controls such a gimmick and if the game wasn't so repetitive, it would be one of my favorites.

Skyward Sword is da bomb, if you ask me. Fantastic gameplay and soundtrack, though level design out of dungeons was rather lackluster in a few places.

I have actually put more hours into Skyward Sword than Breath of the Wild! I think it’s such a beautiful and charming world, with really unique character interactions and an oddly satisfying gameplay style that BotW lacks. That said, I think a Switch port is very necessary! The Wii really didn’t do the game justice!

I'm anticipating SS HD were they tone down Fi's interruptions of the flow of the game, hand holding and better controllers. Hopefully soon. I really like this Zelda nontheless.

Hard to believe it's been nearly 7 years since I played the game during the playthrough I couldn't put it down but after it was over I never had any desires to go back and play it again :[

Lanaryu Desert was the sole spot in the whole game i really enjoyed. the time mechanic and the sand sea were a welcomed experience beside the very boring "yet another forest, water, mountain and even vulcano dungeon" designs. i also enjoyed the crafting system, and together with A Link Between Worlds, i do hope they add some more creative crafting and borrow/buy mechanics in future games.

the second fire dungeon is the coolest of all dungeons in the series, m8 - best bgm, too, among zelda fire dungeons and one of the best tracks in this series in general

Skyward Sword is rife with issues in its gameplay and pacing, but it hits a lot of the right notes as well. Lanayru Desert and the various areas within are some of the better parts, and they've got some of the best music in the game.

Although I consider it the weakest in the series, I still adore this game and think that a good remaster on the Switch could make a huge difference. If they just fixed a lot of little problems I had with it (repeated item descriptions, Fi’s guidance, its low resolution, no camera control, unskippable cutscenes on your first playthrough, etc), I think it would go a long way towards fixing this game’s mixed reputation.
