This soundtrack piece was perfect for the moment it was put into the game for. I stayed paused on the moment when link held the goddess sword aloft for the first time, taking in this wonderful music. It speaks of an important mythos that just started, at that moment, from humble beginnings.
Fi was great. Graceful as a breeze with the personality of a supercomputer.

i really didn´t liked her that much during the game, but in the end this insanely emotional cutscene which is, in my opinion one of the best zelda moments in history, i just didn´t want to realize that its over, the latest zelda is over and i have to wait 5 years to experience that kind of greatness again...

I just recently replayed the original Ocarina of Time and Navi wasn't nearly as bad as Fi.

I personally thought Navi was more annoying overall because of the constant "Hey!" and "Listen!" I had to hear ALL THE TIME. The only thing I hated about Fi was her trying to tell me my hearts are low, even though I hear the other noise already. Her cutscenes were no more annoying to me than anyone else's cutscenes. Groose and his friends were the most annoying things about this game for me, but still, SS is a masterpiece. I think all Zelda games have at least one annoying character anyway, lol.

Best Zelda Games: Majora's Mask > (slightly) Skyward Sword > Twilight Princess > Windwaker That is my list (personally). LOVE Fi's theme though! Porbably my second favorite tune in the game.
I agree almost completely. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time felt too basic. Almost like a reboot for the Zelda franchise. They didn't change a lot and it was too much moving boxes and stuff like that. The puzzles in LttP were much better as was the music. I really think Skyward Sword is my favorite 3D Zelda with Wind Waker being a close second. I haven't played Majora's Mask that much, I'm not even in the first dungeon. I did get the Ocarina of Time, of course.
I always looked forward to the various Fi themes. New songs while I played were never a disappointment. I won't be disappointed if you add any more songs from this game, down the road...
Fi's theme is incredible, especially when Fi says goodbye at the end. I hold up the ending sequences just so I can listen to that theme.
Tatl's ringing noise was far less annoying than Navi saying "HEY!" every 5 minutes.
I found Navi to be annoying because her dialogue was unskippable and often useless. The only time I actually appreciated her help was in the forest temple when she warns you of the wallmasters. However as a companion, I really liked her story wise. Useless as hell, but the 'boy with the fairy' archtype is just so classic. Fi is way worse though. Talk about useless. Tatl is by far my favorite companion, and honestly one of the only ones that I actually entirely enjoy having.
They absolutely need to make a sequel to that game. Or at least have Majora return as a villan. Majora's Mask is the best Zelda game in my opinion. It took what the amazing Ocarina of Time did and did it better.
if the did a sequel to Majora's Mask like they should you could have that experience again. He leaves navi at the end of MM. So you wont have to bother with her.
There's 100% chance that you will love this music.

Wow looking at these comments are surprising, some people didnt like skyward sword?! It does my head in how people just hate change so much. I know im exagerating here but hating change is why things like predjudice and racism exist. Yes it was very diferent to oot or oot 2(otherwise known as twilight princess),they were great changes imo. It was like a 3d version of link to the past,always something to do,not just go to next dungeon!

Now while we're talking about side-characters... Navi: Not that useful, but I like her, she always seem to try her best Fi: I liked her sometimes, hated her sometimes. Overall a good sidekick, but she could stop with all the useless information (Navi handled that much better) Midna: My absolute favorite. Great personality, useful and interesting backstory
Definitely. I loved the controls as well but yeah, there wasn't as much free-roaming or side quests like in Twilight Princess and not as much characters as in OoT. Plus the the final battle was terrible! And the way Fi had to keep reminding you about pointless things that you could have figured out yourself.
Majora's Mask*
I actually like this game pretty much it had alot of nostalgia and in the same time much new thinking in it, the music is also very interesting especially the Bamboo Island and the Credits theme, it also explained alot of the mysteries and such from the previous games like the history of the Master Sword, though my personal favourite zelda game is probably Majora's Maskt this game is among my other favourites
Skyward Sword was a big disappointment - worst 3D Zelda. Fi was so annoying - and I never had any problems with Navi or Tatl
Am I th only Zelda fan who thinks Zelda studio needs a massive expansion? Its not like the zelda Games give a damn about Artistic integrities since it changes every single game so you think they would be able to do more with their games and make more in their games in the exact same way that Bethesda does with the elder scrolls series. I felt SS was more Linear than Other Zelda's and less Linear games see greater successes. Gamer freedom is Gamer immersion Is Gamer Bliss.

I was ok with Navi. I don't like Midna and I don't like Fi. Actually scratch that, I detest Fi. Midna is tolerable compared to Fi. Navi is a goddess compared to both of them.

I haven't played the game yet, but I like this theme. It reminds me of a song that I would hear in a Shadow Hearts game for some reason.
Talk about critically acclaimed games with horrible controls, how about Silent Hill 2, Resident Evil games before 4, Ico, and SotC? Zelda games have superior controls compared to most other games.

No one expected it to break new ground for the industry, we just expected it to be able to at LEAST keep up. Twilight Princess was a far better game and that came out in 06. A game which at the time also felt dated. Better than 95% of stuff out there? I'd have to disagree. Controls were terrible, pacing atrocious, game was far too easy and they held your hand on with almost everything. Not a bad game but definitely not anything truly special or amazing. The game is just far too behind the times.
It's still annoying that he does it more than once and then you just have to sit there mindlessly pressing buttons for the text to go faster though.
Yup, Kaebora Gaebora is skippable. Again, really awkward timing and worse with him if you mess it up, you have to rehear everything ALL OVER AGAIN. Easily worse than Navi, Tatl, and Fi combined.
I can understand that, specially seeing as LttP is easily my favorite as well as WW(I know he had allies, but they were more off to the side so I don't think they count in the same way as Navi). I wasn't keen on having another character following me around, but having the fairy partner just felt right. Maybe a good medium balance would be if all the Kokiri had fairies, but they couldn't talk(that'd be reserved for Great Fairies). Still have a fairy ally, but feel like Link's the only star.
I'm talking about tutorials such as Kaepora Gaebora and in Twilight Princess, you can skip cutscenes, even the opening talk. I know it came after, but still.
While it is difficult to say if this is indeed better than Ocarina of Time, no doubt that with the story and music, it does stand as an equal...
I liked Zelda in this game. She had a lot more character this time around than many others. Even in Twilight Princess you don't know anything at all about zelda, and then she just sort of pops up. Here she's actually a fleshed out character, and she and Link has a really cute dynamic, in my opinion.
I've never hated Navi, but I did wish she wasn't there. Before Ocarina of Time, a Zelda game was about Link adventuring alone and interacting with the world and its characters. It took me a while to get used to having a portable friend following me everywhere. But personally, it was only a minor annoyance compared to the rest of the amazing game.
Actually you can skip the text bits which make up most of the intro and tutorials. The problem is for whatever reason you need picture perfect timing to the extent that it seems there's no point in trying. I have done it a couple times, though not sure why you'd want to skip it. It builds up the story and atmosphere. That'd be like skipping the 1st level in Link To The Past, you just can't it's not the same. I don't enjoy child Link that much, but it's still absolutely necessary.
Tatl pretty much stopped treating you like dirt after awhile, the same with Midna. I guess Nintendo never figured we would play Ocarina of Time more than once since you can't skip the intro or all the tutorials.
My only gripe with the game was Fi's stupidity the ENTIRE game. Beyond Fi, the game was absolutely spectacular.
I really liked this game! Sure it lacked in some parts but where it lacked it filled up with the best story, music and characters in a Zelda game so far. Sure it wasn't the best Zelda but it held up damn well on it's own!
I'd be happy with it. That's what instruction manuals and easy first levels are for. Let's say Zelda II for example, deep and rich instruction manual, first level is a cake walk, and some can even argue the second easy as well. Level 3 that game just stops messing around and becomes brutal.
Gotta agree with Supra. It has some great moments, and of course it's fun, but SS is far from the best Zelda.

Whenever someone brings that up, I always wonder what people would say if there were no tutorials at all.
I feel as if while this game did fill in the gaps that were missing in Twilight Princess, it seemed to have forgotten the majority of the gaps that were already filled in Twilight Princess at the same time. It had more potential content to fill, but took away the land to fill it in. It was more colorful and vibrant, but was a little uneasy in the combat. It was more organized, but didn't exactly have the certain feeling of going to an area for the very first time. Decent game though.
In fact, it's ironic, most of what people claim Navi to be in terms of annoyance she actually rarely did, meanwhile everyone loves Fi even though she does exactly what people said was so bad about Navi.
Almost done with the game, and I agree. It's been fun and interesting, but nothing really stood out to me. Fi has a few good moments, but she's pretty much a robot most of the time.
I've never understood the ranting on Navi. I timed it to see how frequently navi would bing up "HEY!" and it was roughly between every minute to 5 minutes. She'd have a variety of things to say, barely held your hand and had a good personality. Tatl, loud ringing noise, comes up every 30 seconds to 4 minutes, and treated you like dirt. Fi will force interupt you mid game, and extremely frequently, even needing to inform you when you are about to die. Nostalgia clouds how bad Navi actually was.
I liked Fi as character after the ending,but yeah,it's though to bear her during the game. Let's hope Nintendo realizes that we don't need everything in front of us to be described. Other annoying example of that is that everytime that you turn the game on,they need to show the description for every single treasure that you find. Gamers are not dumb.

Most of my thoughts on this game have been said in the last Ocarina of Time upload. I was disappointed with it. It had some great character themes though, like this one. While I like her theme, I really didn't like Fi with her ridiculous hand holding. Let's just say I have a new found appreciation for Navi now. At least this game had Groose, which both had a nice theme and was a great character.
