What an experience. One of my favorites ever. The game that consumed me for the next 5 years, and it could have been a lot longer if I hadn't forced myself to stop. I still remember hearing this theme when I walked around the forest, a newbie Night Elf Rogue that didn't expect what he was getting into.
Also, it looks like a couple of my Switch presentation predictions in the last video were true! Don't be surprised if the other ones just weren't announced yet. I can guarantee that we will be getting an english Mother 3 release.

Wow, that repeating string rhythm and harp remind me so much of the briefing room music from Starcraft for the Protoss.

This brings me back. Way back when my parents first upgraded from dial-up (that took a LOT of convincing) I could finally play online games and WoW was first exploding onto the scene. I eventually moved on to Lord of the Rings Online, bounced around for a while and finally landed in FFXIV. Speaking of FFXIV, that's a soundtrack that I'm surprised hasn't gotten a few songs on this list yet. Especially the Heavensward expansion.

So I'm not the only one! I loved WoW as a kid, but after Cataclysm I lost interest and was desperately looking for an MMO to fill the hole it left. The first, and so far only, MMO that captured that charm was FFXIV. If it wasn't for the repetitive environments I would've stayed, but at least it it reassured me that new MMORPGs can capture that charm of being in another world and that I wasn't just stuck in nostalgia for WoW. Another MMORPG I've heard had a similar charm was Ragnarök, but sadly I missed it's golden age :( Everquest might be a similar one.
I see what you did there, WOW came out in 2004.
Not just WoW. Since VGM #1984 he's been uploading a track from a notable game that came out that year :) It's insane he's gotten this far.
I suggest you take a look all the way back to #1984. With the exception of #2000. :)
