Can't wait for this year's SoR 4! I had my doubts, but the fact that they brought Yuzo Koshiro back got me excited. Crazy times we are living in.

This is one of those tracks that gives me nostalgia even though I never played it. There have only been a few of those that somehow manage to do that.
Haven't played this game, but I remember when Smooth McGroove did a rendition of this song, and it was awesome and made me fall in love with this song. The only other song from this game that I know of is Go Straight, which is also great. Great music :)

Can't go wrong with SoR2 music, many good tracks left to choose Under Logic, Alien Power, NEVER RETURN ALIVE (boss), wave 131, expander, max man (shiva). Hell it's really any of them ;p
I love me some Streets of Rage. But this box art never fails to get a laugh out of me. Look at Skate. He's just so serious for a kid fighting while wearing roller blades. I mean everyone else seems to be having a great time. But not Skate. He's getting too old for this.

Wow, glad to see this on there finally. Kind of absurd though, with such a high amount of songs in the series (over 1940), you'd think great famous tracks like these have been in the playlist for years. There's a big gap between this SOR2 song and the previous one (which is number 1471), just goes to show that there's tons of video games with great soundtracks and how even with such high number of tracks you still can be missing the classics (if I can call so songs like SOR2's dreamer). On a bit of unrelated note, I know you've played Live-a-Live, but It's mind-boggling (to me at least) how you haven't added Megalomania as a Best VGM. It's so blood-pumping and amazing, one of my favorite video game tracks for sure.
It only took 1940 other songs until we got this. This version doesn't sound great though.
My favorite track in all of Streets of Rage. It really brings me back to those early 90s summers.

I have this on my virtual console. Great game! Still holds up, and its stellar soundtrack makes it even better.

SoR 1 and 2 are amazing and I can easily play through them both in one sitting. Three is still fun, but you're right, something about ti just doesn't sit right. Might be the music that was making if feel off this entire time.
I was listening to Streets of Rage 3's soundtrack again and after all this time, I still can't enjoy it. Koshiro went with another composition method using a randomizer and it doesn't click with me. I proceeded to listen to this game's soundtrack and it felt like night and day. This is the Koshiro music I love.
There are several good tracks in SoR3, in my opinion... but they're all composed by Motohiro Kawashima. I don't know what happened to Koshiro at this period, but SoR3, Beyond Oasis and Actraiser 2 are so far from what I like it's not even funny.
Thankfully, he continues to write stronger stuff today. Good ol' Etrian Odyssey has been my biggest surprise find of the last few years.
Streets of Rage 3's OST is not in my neighbourhood. The first two were glorious IMO. Thanks for the idea. I give it a full listen soon!
