It took me years to find this song, I didn't remember what the name of the game was but I remembered playing it just to hear the music. I'm glad to see it lives on in the old vgs part of youtube.

miss this game soo much.. i got stuck at the 3 headed gold lion fight, never managed to get past that one.
Definitely one of the best tracks on the SNES. I don't know why, but this SNES song stuck with me for over 20 years while the other songs faded.

I know this response is a year late, but I've actually never noticed the dragon and monster in the waves until reading this comment. I have seen this cover possibly a hundred times or more, so thanks for pointing that out!

I was reading my old youtube messages from years ago and one was about recommending this song. The day will always come if you wait...
I rented this game and finished it, but I can't say it was anything more than mediocre. The soundtrack is by far the game's best aspect. I remember hearing this tune in the first town when you start the game and thinking I was in for a great adventure, then as soon as I stepped inside the first cave and fought some monsters I quickly realized that probably wouldn't happen. Still, Atland is one of my favorite town themes on the SNES.
You should listen to the X68000 rendition of this soundtrack. If you can find it that is.

So is this game better or worst than Brain Lord? It seems pretty similar, and Brain Lord was an average action RPG at best, but I might look into it if it's not TOO bad.

The only thing this game had was the music. an interesting alternative to the Genesis at the time, the SNES had yet to reach its auditory peak, but in the meantime, this satiated the audiophiles a bit.
