The best music in the game.
Such an awkward game. The floating head dude! So weird! I remember liking the farm barrel robot character thing.
This is one of the best tracks, yes, has a sad and kid of mystery feeling to it, I ranked it as nr 3 in my TOP25 Shadow Madness soundtracks, although that's just my opinion :)
Fun fact, Ted Woolsey, the localizer for Square's games during the SNES era, (i.e. FF6 and Chrono Trigger) wrote this game after he left the company.
Sounds quite midi-ish, and reminds me of the Ultima 6 soundtrack.
Another game I absolutely love that's not considered one of the best. Awesome soundtrack and I just love the characters, so lovable~

Another RPG that's often mentioned as one of the worst in the genre. This time though, I really can't agree. The gameplay is truly abysmal with one of the worst battle systems I've experienced (clunky, unpredictable results, extremely easy), but the rest is very solid. I've played tons of RPGs and this game still has some of the best writing I've seen. Brad Spear's huge soundtrack helped give this game a very unique personality. It's really too bad about the battle system as it was one of the very few JRPG-style games made by a western developer.
That's a shame it's considered so bad. I remember it being really great and having a totally unique atmosphere. Like darker than other JRPG style games.
I haven't heard of this game before, but I'll certainly chek it out!

Great game horriable mechanics.great personality and fun but with graphics from a generation behind.
I was lucky enough to play this game at the perfect age - when repetition glanced off me and I'd play any RPG. Because it let me enjoy everything else about it. It was shockingly creative and cartoony and well written. I never really realized at the time until other games fell short further down the line. I tried to revisit this recently but was stopped by a freeze at a boss when playing on the PS3. D: This is probably my favourite track from the whole game, and you barely get to hear it!
Lol!! I must say I didn't think I'd see this on your list. I own the game, somebody gave it to me. I played all the way through it. I have to say, where it failed in mechanics, graphics, and general design finesse, it excelled in atmosphere and mood. From the very beginning, I was compelled with eerie fear and disgust. The description of the plague of monsters was quite potent and the darkness of the game was fairly well presented. It made me uneasy every time I went to a new town. But other than that, the plot was a bit contrived, and the game felt a bit short and abrupt. Also, yeah, way too easy.
