I wonder why this has such comparatively few views. Yuzo Koshiro's SoR 2 soundtrack is among the finest of the finest. He's truly an outstanding composer.

This is one of those game series that was a big part of my childhood. I always loved the soundtracks too!
I just played through the segment in Saint's Row IV where they parody this game. They had fantastic chip tune music there, too. Also, I wonder why the vast majority of people prefer SoR2 to SoR3? I never played 3, so I can't really give my opinion...
SoR3 is a more difficult game. The levels are longer and arguably, more tedious. Also, the soundtrack is very experimental and abrasive with randomized sequences. It's a big change from the melodic synths of SoR and SoR2.
@gunpei That soundtrack (3) reminds me a lot of Aphex Twin, I really like it.

This is so 90s man. I reminisce about street of rage all the time. The soundtrack goes so hard. If I was crime-stopper this would be my theme song. Heck they should even add this as a theme for the show "COPS".

Man I love this! The song is so awesome that it plays for the intro AND the final level while being very fitting. I'll never forget the first time I entered that elevator and got to Mr. X and seeing the sunrise in the background. The song is what made half of that for me.

I love the music from this series. I really think Koshiro was at his best when he was doing the music for this series because he was so creative with his compositions for Genesis games. Listening to this song makes me realize that he has come such a long way from when he started composing.
You know you were in for some head bumping action when you heard this tune during the intro. I'd love to have a new retro-remake style Streets of Rage with Yuzo Koshiro composing the music again and give him the opportunity to go back to his 90s style.
They remake games ALL the time anymore, but not often any sort of remake I'd care about. But a quality Streets of Rage remake? THAT I would be totally interested in. Great idea. Thanks for the classic track.
@HeroicPunk There's a fan remake and it's fucking awesome. All the characters plus new ones, all the levels of every game, a level editor, new game modes and a remade soundtrack. Totally worth it the download.

@HeroicPunk Double Dragon Neon was goddamn good. Music-wise, and gameplay-wise. I'd see Wayforward remake this, with another kickass Kaufman soundtrack.
