what's the deal with 1337? been hearing references to it lately.
It's a meme from ye olden days of the interwebs. 1337-speech is the exchange of letters for similar-looking numbers. I or L becomes 1, Z becomes 2, E becomes 3, A becomes 4, S becomes 5, T becomes 7, G becomes 9, and O becomes 0. Thus, 1337 translates to "leet" which is slang for "elite". Sometimes, people go overboard trying to replace every letter of the alphabet with symbols (such as SupraDarky with the "watermark" in this video), but that's usually done in a satirical manner.

for some reason no, UT3 losed all what the previus games have done.
i miss arena based combat games unreal tournament 2004 the origanal and quake arena were some of the best games of all time. staying up all night frantic online battles nothing beat it. great games for adrenaline junkies like myself no unfortunately they are a thing of the past. damn i miss the 90s and early 2000's

Now that the Unreal Engine 4 is coming out, I'm more excited for Unreal Tournament 4. If they make that game, I will consider getting a next gen console. Otherwise, I'm good honestly.
That's not to say there aren't a few great osts on there though.

this was my fave game when i was a kid
Anyways, Unreal Tournament is a classic and holds a lot of memories of me playing it with friends during lunchbreak at a gamestore near our school. Very nice minimalist/downtempo soundtrack too. UT2003/2004 became my favorites in this series though, and for some reason I never really paid attention to Unreal Tournament 3.
Back from a quick trip. I've read a quite a few comments about this 1337 number (which mean leet or elite... it even has its own wikipedia entry) so I figured I'd upload a track from the genre I associate it with: multiplayer shooters, especially ~10 years ago. Counter Strike is probably the game where I saw the most people use leetspeak.
