I've been on a video game music binge lately. This game's soundtrack is great. Huge game, and different music at day or night. That's impressive. If at gun point, I'd say my favorite song was Satorl Marsh at night. Shame I haven't finished this game yet. I like almost everything about it, except where I'm at in the game, it seems the fetch stuff quests far outweigh the kill stuff quests. Or at least offer more experience. Does this change after a while? I'm way under leveled, and just stopped. I re visit it every once in a while and go back to old towns, enjoy the music and finish new quests that pop up. Even unfinished, this is still one of my favorite games on the console, and one of my favorite game soundtracks of all time.
Get through the garbage quests to get to the good ones if the npc has a name read their stuff if its generic colony member ignore them lol

I remember first hearing this track when I started playing. I put down the controller and just sat in awe. I said to myself, this game's soundtrack is going to be awesome!!! I was right.

I'm more annoyed by the camera angles with the wii mote controls, but even then, given how the battle system works, it's mostly a minor nuisance.

There actually IS going to be Xenoblade 2 for Wii U. And it's got mechas! And you can fight with them in similar fashion as fighting as humans! It's gonna be freaking awesome!
Man im only at lvl 11 in this game and i love it already ;) If they make a sequel to this game on the Wii U i would buy a Wii U just for that game!
The entire soundtrack is beautiful, one of my favorites was that jungle where you meet Melia. Only gripe is that the regular battle theme wasnt stunning, and the boss theme got old after like 50+ strong enemy encounters. however when played with a boss it was much more epic!

Lol, Dunban and Seven were such trolls to poor Shulk XD Character's voices in battle made them far more lively. I really liked that.

I've been interested in this game, but I must know, do the voice clips always play so frequently during battle? Can you turn them off? I watched a video of the game and the characters kept spamming the same lines. It was annoying.

Everything about this game, I tell you. I return to Colony 9 nearly every time I play; not just for the numerous quests to finish, and not just for the unexplored areas, but mostly to run around to this song. I haven't had the urge to return to an area to soak up the tunes since Chrono Trigger. And with the excellent story and well-paced story, I can safely say this is my favorite RPG in the last 10 years.
I would have expected Mitsuda to have done this seeing the Celtic styling and how he was also a composer on this OST. But then I remembered she did the Legend of Mana and it definitely matches up. Just shows her versatility as a composer. Big fan of hers for a reason.

So I listened to this song, rushed out to Gamestop, and bought the game. I've pretty much been playing it non-stop since I bought it, and it is absolutely a fantastic game. I'm only at the beginning too, so I can't imagine how good it gets later on. Definitely a must have.

I really enjoy the game. I only have a couple complaints, and neither of them touch on gameplay or mechanics. Worth every penny.

Well it took about a week, but I caught up with all the VGM playlists. Overall, pretty good. Millions of JRPG music though I feel some other genres and games are still missing. No Goemon, for example. Still, congrats, gg, etc.
There were plenty of good rpgs on ps2 dude, Persona 4, Tales of the Abyss, KH to name a few.
I heard only good thing about ROF is the battle system and not everyone likes it, the game is hit or miss for most people.
It's such a time sink. Had it since Christmas. A game made of endless loose ends for you to tie up. I love how to make this okay they have made it a fairly relaxing and stress free experience, at least until you come up against some unique monsters...
I find xenoblad enot so bad, but the best jrpg this gen is ROF for me, by far...far better then xenoblade (personnal opinion).
I played it for about 50 hours then i stopped. It's definitely a good game, it's just not great in my opinion. I plan on finishing it someday though.
I played this game around 110 hours and enjoyed every second of it. I played it with the classic controller and it was really comfortable. The soundtrack is really awesome. There are many memorable songs which also fit really fine into the atmosphere. So I suggest that you play this game ASAP.

I absolutely adore this game. I'm at about level 65 now, so I think in the second half of the story now, and it's amazing. What I also love is that at a certain point, "Mechanical Rhythm" becomes the standard battle music for even the most unimportant fight. This game just rocks.

Great music, really love the guitar playing. and that violin. I hear nothing but good things about this and while I enjoyed FFXIII and it's sequel, it's nice to see a different JRPG be getting so much love and rekindling interest in the genre. I hope it never dies because there's something so special about JRPGs that I just always find lacking in WPRGs...I don't know if it's the art design, music or characters but there's an enchantment I don't find anywhere else.
I agree; it's been years since a game this great has been released. I'm about 13 hours in so far, and I can already see this taking my third-favorite-of-all-time slot (after Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger).
Amazing game! It's partially restored my faith that devs can still produce great JRPGs. If you can, play it on Dolphin and bump up the resolution, it looks really good!

It must be a written law, in all video games for all time, birds will be your greatest enemies. Ninja Gaiden, Morrowwind, Zelda II, Xenoblade, the list goes on.
Glad to have this game. One of my favorite games in ages. Seriously, I can find myself lately raging at plenty of modern stuff, but I've only encountered one bad moment so far, and I'm nearly 20 hours in! All I'll say is it involves giant birds trolling the hell out of me. No, they aren't out of my league or anything, but they do like getting the attention of every single enemy in the damn area, including the ones 60 levels above me. I don't pick fights with these birds, they're just trolls!
The game is difficult, and I love it! It doesnt hold your hand at all, just throws you out there!lol

Maybe so. But for some reason,I think the people who worked on Operation Rainfall wouldn't agree with you. People were more worried that it wasn't going to be officialy released in America than anything else really and I haven't heard anyone critize the controls, but I think it just boils down to preferences for you.
I don't have a classic controller, but ugh @ having to splurge another $20 just so the game is playable. Thanks, though. I didn't know it was compatible with TLS or Xenoblade. I'll have to invest in one, I guess.
I agree about the classic controller. Xenoblade even has an edition that included one that feels more like a ps3 controller. I love that thing :)
why?! you can play it with classic controller!!!!! 2 Joysticks, 4 buttons on the right, a digi on the left, and l1 l2 and r1 r2 there is NO difference!
Play them with the classic controller, then. They are both compatible with it and it makes gameplay a lot better.
Just my opinion. The controls are awful because of the Wii. I would just enjoy it more on the PS3/360. Same with The Last Story, to be honest.

This game is awesome. The Targeting system is a little off, but either than that, it's fantastic.

One of the few tracks made by Shimomura. It reminds me more of her work on Legend of Mana, I could definitely see this on a new Mana game. Now that some days have passed, how are people enjoying this game ? I have it but I won't play it until this summer.
