Not to be confused with a famous movie rhyme... This is an example of... "A Game for those who seek to find, a way to leave their world behind." Starting this up, and hearing this at the start... goes to show, you're about to leave and enter into a world like no other.
This picture and song alone are enough to make me want to try the switch version. The only thing that has ever held me back is the length of the game. I've heard it's huge!
I can't wait for the Switch remaster, it looks so beautiful.

Friggin love the little detail of the Monado lighting up near the end of the song. Even this fucking title screen tells a story. Thumbs up to the devs. Im playing this on the 3ds and the timer to show how long youve played for is at 9 fucking hours. i played for 3 yesterday. Can't wait to finish this game for the first time, this is also the first game i havn't seen a single gameplay video of so i can keep all the plot twists, secrets and heartwarming moments for MY gameplay. cant wait to %100 the whole game.
The only other piece of title screen music that carries as much emotion with me is Ocarina of Time. Both of them are amazing games which carry so many memories.

That's a good reason, I already have over 300 hours playtime. But if you like stuff that plays with your emotions, than it's a must.
Well I was done with the game after 70 hours because I didn't bother with the side quests. Personally I think the main story is the games strongest point because I really didn't like the battle system too much. The story and the soundtrack is amazing, though.

@Chris Fusion Well, it's not like I did none at all, but since they were simple fetch and kill quests I didn't think they were interesting at all. That's stuff you do in MMOs, but not in offline JRPGs imo

The title screen of this game is more entertaining and immersive than most games.
The first time I ever heard this music and saw this title screen, I felt a flood of emotion coursing through me. Now that I've played through the game, it's even better/worse. This game means so much to me. Truly, it's a remarkable piece of art.

i regret every decision in my life that led me to not pick up xenoblade on the wii but im soo glad i could get it for the n3ds it has been a fucking delight and its so cool.
I choosed this Main Theme from Xenoblade Chronicles as a main menu on my 2DS and each time I'm hearing it I can listen to my heart when I feel lonely because it gives me more strengh and courage so it can help me to feel better and the menu screen while the sky is changing from day to night is so beautiful that I'm fallen in love! <3 :3

I always wondered where this was.
I wasn't really hit by this song much, until I payed attention to the video and the sound instead of just the sound. It was surprising how much that simple scene of a lone sword in grass actually portrayed. A peaceful dawn, but the mechons come and sorrow follows, pretty much humanities only hope of survival is that sword. As the world darkens, the Monado is seen as a glowing beacon of hope.
I completely agree with you and never thought about it that way. It's those simple and subtle things that make Xenoblade Chronicles such a beautiful game. Don't know if this counts as spoilers, so just in case, spoilers. Also just wanted to add, what makes your comment more ironic is that while the Monado IS their only hope, it's also the reason that all of this happened. The Monado almost led to their downfall, and yet, they rely on it so much simply because they have no other choice.

but have this in mind: thats the reason Nintendo is porting this splendid game for the "New" 3ds, so many people as possible will be able to get this amazing game and also be ready for Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U, that makes me happy

@Chewwy Did you hear the statement from the new CEO of Nintendo saying: we are going to use aggressively all our IP's this time, fro the NX, so I guess not only the most popular ones will be used, but all of them will get new titles, hoping this combined with the fact that many of us has been asking Nintendo to bring mother 3 to the west (and nintendo acknowledged that) maybe they will brin a remake for handheld consoles!

I was planning to get a 3DS to join my buddies around the world in portable Smash Bros but I'll definitely wait for this revision/upgrade. Looking forward to it. As for the upload, I love it anytime Yoko Shimomura makes your list.

Funnily enough, I'm playing through this game right now. And I'll admit, this is probably one of the best title screens in gaming history. So simple, yet so ominous.
I absolutely love this main theme. It's one of my favorite ever in a video game. I am fine playing this game on a Wii. I really need to get back to playing this game, I'm just stuck at an important part in the story. Also, one of the best soundtracks I have ever listened to for an RPG. This soundtrack is easily in my top 10 of all time.

Another amazing choice Supra! I swear first time I got this game I was just watching the title screen turn from day to night and vise versa. And the music to just to top it off. So calming and peaceful, but then gradually gets more louder to represent the journey the player is going to experience. All I can say is that I love it!
I played this on a CRT years ago and still had a blast. Maybe I'll look into Dolphin sometime for fun.

Ahaha, I can't remember how many times did I launch the game to play and actually go back to the PC with the main menu song in background for like 30 minutes.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is a decent contender, which is probably the nicest thing I'll ever say about that game.
FFX-2 had a great main menu theme, too. I think it was called, Memory of Lightwaves.

Whenever I start up Xenoblade on my Wii, I always wait for the song to be over until I start playing. Whenever i watch this and listen to it at the same time, I get goosebumps. :3
I absolutely love the soundtrack on this game, it's fantastic, but I just couldn't complete it. I found that the incessant shouting during Combat just marred the whole experience for me; and with no audio sliders or ability to turn down the racket, it just completely put me off. I'm hoping they add that option to the New 3DS version, at least so I can play through it without having to cry over the ruined battle soundtrack.
Just a few days after I've set up the Dolphin so I can play this game with the best graphics possible, Nintendo announced a port for the New 3DS. How does everyone feel about the new handheld? At first I thought it was just another small revision, but it actually has more power, 4 shoulder buttons and a sort of 2nd stick, mostly to help control the camera. Xenoblade is the first game announced for it and they clearly said it won't work on a normal 3DS. I have to say, eventhough I will end up buying the New 3DS, Nintendo really is making it all confusing. I'm sure I'll see people buy New 3DS games for their normal 3DS, just like I've seen people buy Wii U games for their Wii.

I think they are confusing customers like you said. I don't think this will help much with sales (unless they release a exclusive game that everyone REALLY wants). I'm not really convinced on buying this until something comes out that I really want to buy. I still have to buy a regular 3DS and all the games I want to play. xD

I'm curious to see what kind of graphic improvement we will see with the exclusives games coming for the New 3DS. Looks good to me, I sold mine a while ago cause I needed the money but I'll surely buy the new one.
Personally, i would like it if they renamed it from just 3DS. and New 3DS wouldn't work either. something like 3DS-2 would work. just something to specifically diversify it from the normal one. I won't be buying one myself from my money (I'm saving up for WiiU releases) but i'm gonna try and get one for christmas, if it comes out by then.

I really think their timing sucked here, I mean, they just released the new Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS, which was the main reason for me buying the 3DS. Now people are saying, "Oh, you screwed up, you should have waited." Well, I waited for Nintendo to convince me to buy a 3DS, and they came through. Now they'll have to convince me all over again. And meanwhile, I'll be enjoying both classic and modern games on my fresh-out-of-the-box 3DS XL.
