This is one of the 3 video games that gave me injuries, the other being a DBZ Budokai title that required the same control-stick rotating for charging certain specials, and of course, DDR. I derped a bit on that game. Ow.
One of the best songs for any of the Mario Party games. Definitely one of the most memorable ones as well. It ended up breaking N64 controllers and causing injuries.lol There will never be another Mario Party like this one.
There's one thing I never managed to complete in this game, and that was the solo minigame area. I could never beat the tug-of-war minigame to progress and I remember tearing the skin on my palm trying to complete it. Still love this game, and it's music to this day.
Also, this was a good board in the first Mario Party. I only have 1, 2, and 4 out of all the games. I wish I didn't miss out on Mario Party 3 back in the day. I don't know how I never got that one. Overall though, I say Mario Party 2 is the best.
I once had a bit of skin tear off my palm when I was playing the river raft control stick mingame as a kid. That was the only time I suffered injury though (from any game in fact).

The game was aggravating at times, but this theme's awesome. Mixing elements of Mario, Chrono Trigger and Klonoa styled music for an audio-experience that's very pleasing. If short.

This was the first level I played in Mario Party. I was ruling this board with an iron fist but the people I played with beat me later and horribly. I always did get the Happening Star though.

@drako897 Hahaha I know That was the main one. The rowing MiniGame. I remember going back to school the next day Proud to say i was a hardcore gamer because i had to get blisters to win.
At some point I must've had the joystick's circles imprinted in my hand because of Tug of War... The flute part at 0:15 reminds me of Maplestory music.
Gotta use my headset for this one.

I cant even count the number of blisters i got from those rotating mini games haha. I still have the same controllers to this day. The joysticks are about dead but still o so good =)
I remember one night my friend, my brother and I were playing this and at the end of the match (a 60 turn one no less) there was a way (can't remember exactly how now) to get extra stars that the computer controlled characters obtained by unplugging and re-plugging controllers in different ports. My brother and I had done it several times before so my friend really wanted to try it and when he went to do it he hit the reset button. This of course caused him to cry. Ah childhood :)

@InfinteSaint no it isnt. 2 was the best ever. this game ruined my hand, and 2 hand improvements that just made it the best in the series.

Thanks for the epic nostalgia, SupraDarky. I remember so well back when I was younger, playing this game with my brother and two cousins. Sometimes I dream back about those times, and this song would often play in my head because of how dreamy it is. If this aint a masterpiece, I dont know what is.
@timodude1985 LOL, those were the most painful Blisters ever, on the palm of your hand for spinning the stick too much. especially on one rowing game I remember, MAN THAT WAS A PAAAIN! XD

Nostalgia with this one, playing with friends and having tons of fun. I remember the minigames that made you rotate the control stick really fast, I'd use my palm and get blisters because of that. A lot of people actually did that and Nintendo eventually got lawsuits over it from angry parents. I don't think Nintendo ever put those kind of minigames again in the sequels because of that, and it might also explain why they skipped this game and released Mario Party 2 for the Virtual Console.
