To me: DQVIII > DQV > DQIV. But all of them are top quality games I would recommend anyone. On the other hand, I didn't like DQIX that much...

I'm not a big fan of DQ battle/boss themes. Some are nice and most of them are good music but they do not give me the rush they should when I fight monsters. IMHO, FF music is superior in that regard.

@SupraDarky Due to the fact that this comment is a month old,I#m sure you already know it...but it's already stated that DQ10 will only be playable online
@SupraDarky I heard the offline gameplay will only last a few hours unless i missed something. I think online will be fun, its maybe the only MMO i look forward to being released. I think the original creators know what they are doing. Anyways, i haven't played the SNES version, but finished the DS version just a few days ago and i really enjoyed it;)

I'm currently replaying the DS version of this, decided to give it another go as I never finished. I prefer VIII, but I'm loving it so far (getting the two Rings atm) and the music is brilliant, so that might change. <3 The only other DQ I've played is IX, which was good, but lacked characters due to being built around multiplayer. I can see why people are apprehensive about X being online, but I'm looking forward to it a lot.

@SupraDarky You really should play it... it's also my favorite Dragon Quest game... I like DQVIII second. I haven't played DQVII because it's really expensive and rare.

V is my second favorite in the series after VIII. I can't understand for the life of me why they're making Dragon Quest X an online game.
Oh heck yes I love this theme from Dragon Quest 5. By far one of my favorite dungeon themes from a game. Excellent choice. :)

Still my favorite in the series. I have the DS remake but I haven't played it yet. It will be interesting to see what happens with DQ10 on the Wii, with it having online and all. I'll probably be playing it offline myself, I'm not a very big online console player.
