Old Miltia prepare to be shocked and rattled at the end of this whole trip blew me away freaked me the hell out even.
This area in the game is like zanarkand from final fantasy 10. (I hope I spelled that right.) But yeah I always like the ruin city concepts in video games because it's cool but sad and scary at the same time.
Juuuust a little bit of Shoji Meguro in this guy.

you should REALLY play the rest of the Xenosaga series! while episode 2 is less interesting than Episode 1, Episode 3 is just mind blowing and epic in every aspect.. makes you with Episode 4 existed
A land where sea and space are intertwined. An aquatic feel surrounds the ruins that was once a proud civilization. Mystic qualities engulfs the vision of those who enter. Beauty within ruins. A place for lost souls to rest.
I always thought of Old Miltia as a planet that had died off completely during an apocalypse, but going here in Xenosaga II made me realize that they'd lived there in complete horror for 14 whole years, trapped in a hell brought to reality.
this and labyrinthos are fantastic tracks...really atmospheric...
It's so beautiful, I want to make a remix of this and Labyrinthos someday.

It's the second episode of Xenosaga, not Xenosaga II. That is, all of the games were "Xenosaga" but the game was released serially.
The whale/dolphin noises at 0:59 are a nice touch.

I've now uploaded the 5 VGMs I'd listen to the most while studying a couple years ago during my B.Sc. I listed them in the last X2 upload : Old Miltia and Omega System from this game, Lost Forest from Legaia 2, Electric Power Building from Breath of Fire V and Dolphin's Intrigue from Ecco. My studying/surfing ambient playlist is quite bigger now, but it still has those 5 themes. Someday I might create this playlist on YT for you guys if you want, a lot of the themes are already in the list.
