This is one of the best fighting theme songs that i know. The game is just awesome and rememrable characters
You know it's a good battle theme when late in the game you're delaying killing the last enemy just to hear it all the way through.

I'm actually playing this for the Dreamcast right now in my spare time. I loved the first Grandia so this was a no brainer for me.
That doesn't have anything to do with what my comment says. I was responding to someone who said Grandia III was underwhelming becuase "Square Enix took over." Square Enix didn't make Grandia III.
They're both. Who do you think develops the Final Fantasy series?
Square Enix is a publisher, not the developer. As far as I know.
Remind's me of Steins;Gate opening theme, "Hacking to the Gate".
This and Skies of Arcadia. Made owning a Dreamcast just that little bit more awesome.

@Quikquik98 Wait, what?! Sorry for replying to an old comment, but are you being serious? It sounds like you're joking. Super Metroid cannot possibly be a ripoff of Halo, seeing as Super Metriod came out in 1994; Halo was in 2001.
Ah, Grandia II on the Dreamcast. One of the greatest, most overshadowed RPGs of all time.
I always imagine this track being used in a bitchin' 80s montage.

This theme always made me want to squeeze out more power from my characters. Hearing Ryodo's TENSEIKEN SLASH still gives me goosebumps.
@Arc13 I'd have to politely disagree with you. I was a kid in the 90's and my first impulse might be to say that the best games where 1990-2000, that could just be my nostalgia talking. Case in point, I thought Super Mario 64, OoT, and FFVII where the best games ever (not saying they aren't amazing cause they are). But over the years I've matured and those amazing, epic plots (I mean RPG's during this time) seem to have more flaws and cliches to me. I'm glad the industry is trying to make kore
@Quikquik98 You are not following my advice at all. And yes, while those came out then, NES counts more towards Silver Age of gaming because while amazing tell me if Castlevania III really holds a candle to Castlevania IV. Now please, just stop overthinking it. I'm merely saying this is awesome along with the games of it's era and systems. And you're overthinking each and every time. It almost seems like you wish to disprove that these games are good. I'm not sure if that even makes sense...AGH

@Quikquik98 You are over thinking this. By a lot. If I need to enter this level of specifity then I will. 1991-2000, the greatest era of video games ever made and all the games released with the SNES, Genesis, N64, Playstation, Saturn, Dreamcast are all amazing. You can't really apply that kind of logic current gen due to current gen not exactly even holding a candle to the quality of the past. If it sounds like I'm insulting you, I apologize I don't mean to just, don't overthink it.

I went into Gamestop today to just look at random cheap games, and what do I see? Fucking Grandia II. Bought it dirty cheap, and I will play it so hard next week. So.FUCKING.HARD.
@MasterOfStealth64 Yes, this is a good PS2 RPG (though it does suffer from a few framerate problems, nothing game-breaking though). Any Shin Megami Tensei or Persona game are also good.
@Quikquik98 I count 2000 still admist the 90s due to the fact N64 PS1 Dreamcast was still the go to systems.
@MasterOfStealth64 A good PS2 rpg? There are plenty! I would recommend Wild Arms 4, Persona 3 and Persona 4. I've never played this one before, but i've heard it's good.

@wiiplayin The second carries the spirit of the first game real well while still being original - it's fantastic, and honestly I like it more than the first. The third Grandia meanwhile cleaned up the battle system and made the gameplay even more fun than the other entries in the series, but at the cost of having an atrociously cliche plot and cast, largely lacking any of the charm or loveability of the first two games' scenarios.
The battle themes from this game are all great. My favourite would be the regular boss fight theme, Fight!! Ver.3.
Listened to all your playlists in these past two months! They're awesome, dude!! ;) Now I'm gonna start from scratch and download the ones I liked the most, and I'm curious to see if you'll be at 1000 songs by the time I get here again! ;)

i really need to get back into this game. i stopped playing it like 8 hours in. i believe i got stuck at a boss fight. the slowdown in the ps 2 version can get a bit annoying but it's far from gamebreaking.
I was going to get this game on PC many years ago, but then I stopped seeing it in stores and never got it. :-(

Ah, good old dreamcast. The combat and leveling systems made this game great.
I remember when you first encounter Milennia, and she has to use Zap! on you to finish the cutscene/unwinnable fight. I kept interrupting her casting, so she kept killing me with the crossbow instead. It took me forever to figure that part out...

I loved the first two Grandia games. I played this one on the Playstation 2 and there were some slowdowns so I'd recommend playing it on the original Dreamcast version if possible. After Grandia III underwhelmed, I wonder if it marked the end of this series, especially since Square-Enix took over.
