DKC was David Wise, Eveline Novakovic, and Robin Beanland DKC2 was all Wise DKC3 was primarily Eveline with some Wise

Interesting! I will say, though, that any underwater level from the series is usually among the most atmospheric to me in the series, and Wise usually does those. Plus, Wise's new soundtrack for the GBA DKC3 made use of field-recording type sounds, which is insanely atmospheric (by default!).
Fischer is also well-known for being Joanna Dark's voice actress.
Yeah this game and its sequel have so much crap going on in their box arts, I love it!

Donkey Kong Country was a nigh endless source of VGM masterpieces. SD, when you eventually upload all of them, you should put them in their own section. I think they deserve it.
This is Fischer's? Interesting. Is she the one who made DKC3's soundtrack (which sucked ass)? Because wow, it's one of my favorite songs and I was expecting it in DKCR.

A couple of people seem to be confusing the level this played in with the other ice track. This was in the ice cave level with the slippery ropes. (Oh, how they tortured me in my youth.)
i'll admit, donkey kong country has got to be one of, if not the best, video game soundtrack of all time. i mean, overall i'd say that ocarina of time for example is the better game, but soundtrack? god, there's no contest to DKC.

Man, you just made me nostalgia.
Perhaps it sticks out because it was used for only one level. A truly unique level with beautiful graphics that went along with beautiful music. Donkey Kong Country is up there in terms of Castlevania and Final Fantasy of truly memorable music.

@SupraDarky Very interesting -- is there a breakdown somewhere that says who wrote the different tracks? Or do we have to go to the credits of the game itself to figure that out (if it's even there?).

Great choice, I cant wait to see what #1000 is gona be! In my vote (or opinion) I would like the Ruins theme from Kirby 64:The Crystal Shards, but I know your not taking votes or opinion, I just hope I see it atleast on the list in any spot. Its a really good VGM song though, you should listen to it still :-). Anyway thanks for all the past videos and I hope to see 1000 more :-)

This one's from Fischer, she really has her own unique style and choice of instruments compared to Wise's tracks, it's quite easy to tell. Personally I think Wise generally has the better melodies while Fischer is really good at composing atmospheric tracks that helped define this game's soundtrack. I think her contribution was very important. Just hearing that harp/guitar instrument at the 10 seconds mark, you know it's from Fischer.
