Tales of the Abyss is much better in my opinion, though Vesperia is a great play too. I greatly love the Tales series, they are my all-time favorites, even more so than the FF series. You should definitely give Abyss a whirl if you haven't already. The battle system is astoundingly addictive =]
So I am about 6 or 7 hours in. I have enjoyed it a lot so far. I agree with wanting some more animation in the characters. I did feel that the titles were explained a lot. There are lots of tutorial parts for the first few hours. I have really enjoyed the game, and felt that the story has been interesting so far. I like the battle system and the skits too. The eleth mixer is still strange to me. Asbel is pretty standard fare but still likeable.
not as amazing as i was hoping, story feels pretty dull compared to previous Tales of Games, it is however still enjoyable. It pays a lot of homage to Tales of destiny 1 and 2 (i believe it was those two) with it's battle system and skit art style. all in all the only isues i have with this game are: -I wish the game did better at explaining the importance that titles play in learning new artes and getting stronger -I wish they put more animation/feeling into the characters
How is it? I have looked at buying it several times. I love Vesperia on 360.

Really liking the music and the style of art in ToG from what i've seen and heard, It has this ToS feel to it imo maybe not the actualy music per se but idk I get this feeling that its gonna have lots of places and just be very epic scaled which I didnt feel from ToV.
I've loved the music of the "Tales of" series ever since Symphonia hooked me.

The music to this Tales game is surly like no other. I don't get that T.O.A. feel or the feel of T.O.S. that I received in T.O.V. The music here is pretty different, but it's still great, nonetheless. I'll be looking forward to getting this soundtrack as well. ^_^
For once, I hear a Tales song that doesn't sound like every other Tales song ever. I can bob my head to this.

@Sephiko Tales of Graces F has been confirmed for NA release... :)
i hope we get the code geass costume packs with the NA release
@Sephiko @SupraDarky PS3 version is definitely confirmed for US release since Feb, and more recently, Nintendo Power unvieled mention of Tales of the Abyss for 3DS coming to the US too. Neither have release dates.

The Tales series is one of my all time favorite VG franchises, along with Zelda and Ace Attorney. Can't wait for Graces F, and hoping Xillia comes to the states eventually as well.
@DarkAurora94 Yeah he's great. Honestly though, I think his best stuff was on the first two Golden Sun games, such unforgettable tunes!

I'm not too sure about the status of this game in NA, I'm pretty sure the PS3 version is coming and for the Wii I have no idea. I started playing Vesperia a while ago but I've been too busy these days to play it, I'm about 10 hours in. I'll go back to it soon, I like it so far.
