This has absolutely nothing to do with "A town with an ocean view" by Joe Hisaishi.
@groovemike It has a lot of similar melodies and themes. As a huge Ghibli/Hisaishi fan and VGM fan I've always loved both of these tracks in part because they are similar.

I must say, I'm surprised you haven't put up the Song of Mana, Supra, it's one of my favourite vocal pieces from games, right up there with Minuet.
World of Mana is an amazing piece from this soundtrack too.

Speaking of HD, this would one of those few games I wouldn't mind a HD remake, because well, the art was made for it.
@GameBeatenakaKevinS Turns out, Yoko Shimomura wans't the only composer for Super Mario RPG. It was also composed by Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu :O

@SupraDarky Totally agree. Especially for RPG's. There is always a stiffness about 3d models that takes you out of the moment. Whne you look at recent 2d platformers like New Super Mario Bros, Kirby' epic yarn, and the new Shantae. They all look so dynamic.

It's amazing that with all the great work Uematsu did for the PS1, Shimomura's work on Legend of Mana might be the best soundtrack on the system.

@SupraDarky I see what you mean by instantly recognizing that it's the same person that composed for SMRPG and Kingdom Hearts. I can hear the Forest theme from SMRPG and Twilight Town battle theme from KHII.

Great game, with a LOT of neat features, like smelting weapons and figuring out those damn golems. I used to play multiplayer a lot with a friend.

A typical Shimomura piece, you just know it's the same person who composed for games like SMRPG or Kingdom Hearts. This game is still very beautiful, I wish we'd see more games with amazing 2D art, especially now with the HD.
