For some reason, I played this before Okami. Still haven't completely beaten it, but I really liked it. Chibiterasu is an awesome protagonist, IMO. I actually think I might have experienced nostalgia from this track. Huh.
The original Okami (PS2, Wii) is a Zelda-style adventure game based on Japanese mythology, with a spell-casting system where you draw brush strokes on the screen. I haven't played Okami-Den, but that's the Nintendo DS Sequel. Both games feature traditional Japanese style music like this track.

Xzaithyr Grymhart Okamiden is a DS adventure game in a similar vein to the Legend of Zelda series; it’s the sequel to the PS2 title Okami, and both have the principle of “What if all the ancient Japanese myths were true, and happened around the same time?” The land of Nippon (which is Japanese for Japan) is based on that. It’s worth a shot if you like Legend of Zelda.

Love Okami =) I played it on my computer (a friend gave me the disc and the emulator runs fine) and I wish I had a Nindendo DS in order to play again to this excellent sequel.
Okami HD will be launched on PSN for PS3 on this November.
Okami and Okami den were the most under appreciated games ever!

Much as I loved Okami... I really didn't like Okamiden. At all. The music was top notch, sure, but... the gameplay? Lost all the charm from the original. Sure, it was more difficult, but having to use the brush and wait for ten seconds for your fat ally to go anywhere, ALL THE TIME, got annoying in a hurry.
I just beat this game a couple days ago. Worth every fucking penny. I had doubts Capcom would be able to live up to Clover Studios' predecessor, but I was wrong (it helps that they at least brought back the same composer). Definitely an epic way to end the DS era, as it's one of the best DS games I've ever played.
you should add the closing credits song from the original okami to your list.
I love how it looks like Amaterasu is sulking in the bottom left corner. like she's thinking "God (me) dammit! Why can't my son's game be as good as mine? I am disappoint, Crapcom!" I know she's looking at Chibi, but still :p
So disappointed in Okamiden. Partners broke up the flow of the game way, way too much. The music is still top-notch, but the game... HUGELY subpar to Okami.

@shadowg3 Technically, you CAN get Okami on the PS3. Buy the PS2 version, then play it on PS3. Simples. I do realize you meant a new game, but that probably won't happen. Not trying to annoy you or anything. Just one gamer to another.
What a lovely little game this was. :) So rare for sequels to do the first game so much justice.
If only they had pulled themselves together and release it in ALL european countries. It's the only reason I still don't have it. :(
Does Capcom still produces this game? If not, then go and pirate it. Paying 300 bucks for some douche at e-bay is NOT supporting the developers.
BTW, this video is pirated. Does SupraDarky have permission from Capcom to publish this video? Probably not. Yet every person who has watched this video, including those who denounce piracy, is engaging in piracy. Hypocrisy.
Okami did not fail because of piraters. It was pirated no more or less than any other PS2 games, and plenty of those were popular. We're all aware that not everyone who pirates would have bought the game, yes? Even if all the piraters did buy the game, it may still have been commercially unsuccessful. I keep hearing people blame piracy for this games failure, but if you're gonna do it, back it up with some numbers.
@LeahLuciB This may be shocking to you but this isn't my first time arguing via the Internet but thanks for explaining it to me...The real point of an argument is to compromise and learn a different POV of the topic rather then toss mud at each other. I don't expect pirates to stop stealing because of my comments but I'm trying to speak to the gamers who sympathize with them. And yeah, the game industry is great for bland FPS's like CoD or Homefront. Oh, by the way, great music here huh? :)

People will say and do shit you don't agree with, and arguments, like this one, rarely have a chance of going anywhere. Going on endless scolding rants about the nature of piracy doesn't do anything but be annoying. I sleep with a free conscience. Does anyone really think youtube comments will change that? Besides, the game industry is thriving.

@LeahLuciB I guess it's a golden rule on Youtube that you must respond to opposing viewpoints with a heaping dose of snark. Excuse me if I want Okami to get more backing for a sequel, isn't that beneficial to both of us? I'm glad you bought Okami, and yes publishers do take a wrongful amount of money, your absolutely right on that point, but treating gamers who pirate stuff are some noble rebels out to take down the "man" is just as bad as self-righteous sermons.
I bought Okami. I buy video games, and rarely pirate. I just hate self-righteous sermonizing.

Generally I'm against pirating games unless the developer really can't make a profit off it anymore, but in bluelaguna18's case, he doesn't live in the USA, or, presumably, another country where Okamiden was localized, so even if he bought it online he wouldn't be supporting his own country's economy. On top of that, he doesn't have a DS to begin with, so pirating the game is, in his case, a moot point because he's not part of the audience anyway. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents.

I can'y afford multiple consoles, and yet I want Portal, which would be perfect for the wii ( I guess developers should bring out more stuff for pc, since it's the one platform everyone has). Sad. I also spoke to a guy who couldn't buy pokemon in N. Korea. But if we want more Okami games, more people need to buy the game legit. It's a conundrum alright.

@blulaguna18 Well, it IS pirating, technically. They're just on their moral high horses because some rich fuck at Capcom can't throw a few more coins on his huge pile of money. I can already hear their responses forming in my head. I've argued with these types before. Just do yourself a favor and politely tell them to fuck off, and gleefully get back to your pirating. Anti-piracy people never shut up. Just ignore them.

I mean it hurts me so much what the companies do to good games. by putting them on less popular stuff. That is why i use emulators most of the time on my laptop. But thank u for proving a point. @GodTangrowth blah blah look , i am a huge fan of Capcom okay, you're not understanding what i'm saying to you, i have the Original copy of Okami, played it and beat it, i don't have a DS so i decided to try my curiousity and see how good this sequel was, because of all the talk of it over the interwebs, you think i'm not smart enought to know about all the stuff your talking about, I'm a hardcore gamer, I'm not supporting piracy , i was just complaining about how silly the emulator was.
I reach at the drawing the star part, to continue the story lol, and i took ma a half an hr of trying to draw the star lol and i still failed at it, miserably ahaha, so i ended up removing the emu and the rom from my pc until, i can get a real ds and play. But Okamiden is a lovely sequel. i wanna play it again sometime.
@blulaguna18 It's about supporting the developer, which you are failing to do. A lot of work goes into making these games, and at the end of the day, it's a business. If the developer does not have the money to make another game or support it, then that's the end of it. We got lucky that Okamiden was even released after having so-so sales in the English speaking world. Your attitude is immensely selfish and part of a problem. You're stealing from Capcom and the chances of more Okami games.

@blulaguna18 Come on, buy the game. We're pretty damn lucky we got Okamiden after Okami didn't sell too well in the US to begin with. You're doing a great disservice to the developer.
Ah Okamiden. This game is so incredible. It's plot is so creative, yet beautiful and also sad. It's a masterpiece of epic proportions, making crappy DS graphics look real from it's inner beauty.
Wait... does anyone else think that the main melody kind of sounds like that stereotypical snake charmer song, or something egyptian, or something... You know what I mean.

Lol so sad i couldn't continue this game. Because my stupid DS emulator won't recognize a stupid star. So i gave up on it. And deleted it. Hopefully in the near future i would get a dsi and play it again. I love Okami series.
