I felt like I was an actual hero after beating this game cause of this song. This song is so amazing that it made me literally cry after beating the game. Noriyuki Iwadare is such an amazing composer, and he has pretty much changed my taste of music. I’m so happy I got to play this game. It’s my favorite game of all time.

zophar looks so much different in the ps1 version
Yeah, not so scary compare to this one.
The ps1 zophar is scary in a more obvious and confrontational way, but CD zophar is much more ominous and unnerving. Zophar's gaze and posture are simultaneously malevonent and motherly; the device holding lucia captive, as well as the bead-like tendrils that flow through his hair look like internal organs, and his distorted ear all come together to make you feel as though something is terribly wrong.

@Hirotrum you're right, actually, everything that's a Lunar Sega CD song is better, but i'm talking about Zophar
I played the PS1 remake, But I must say, now that I heard this Sega CD version of the theme, it sounds way better than the newer one!
ikr it feels like they tried to add to many instruments, and the drum base in the cd version is 100% superior
The worst part is that they gave Zophar the standard boss theme for the first stage of the fight.
The SEGA CD version is compressed and in mono, but most of the songs feel more complete in that version. The one song I'd say sounds bad is the original Zophar battle theme (not the true final boss theme), because the compression is really bad.
Ahhhh...Still one of my all time favorite final boss themes. So...Awesome. Really catches the scale that the cast are just little humans who stick it to a being of near godly power. Completely badass
The intro reminds me of Dahlia Hawthorne's theme from Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations, though this theme in general sounds kinda like the Final Fantasy IV final boss theme...
Oh yes, I remember this song and battle. It definitely had an impact on my taste for music. Excellent piece.
I like that when listening to it but it always bugged me when actually playing the game because of the time it took to re load the track.
I'd get mad too if everyone called me a cute kitten while being a fierce dragon ^_^ And i believe I played silver star! But I didn't get far before I lost my cartridge.
silver star is on a disc. the cartrige one is for gba and its cut way too short.

For those who have not played Lunar 2 that girl in the still image is a guy, and yes he is a very powerful final boss that enjoys expressing himself through his clothing style.

@SchwarzerFrost1989 Either starts from beginning (like in, say, Medievil) ... or maybe it loops in the game, but not in the soundtrack version. Most soundtrack versions of various background themes loop forever and ever, having just a fadeout as their ending.
@SupraDarky If the Theme doesn't loop when what happens if you did not defeat the last boss in 4:50? Will it play just from the beginning or is it silent?
The Sega CD version repeats from the trumpet-sounding segment on.

Fighting the last boss with this theme playing was very epic, especially back in the mid 90s. I've already said it on some other video, but I like how Iwadare is one of the few composers who actually add an end to his themes, it doesn't loop.
