Ah this makes me wanna play diablo 2 becouse after playing diablo 3 beta i can say and be sure of how much better and harder (in a good way) diablo 2 is. Necromancer, no action house, non stacking potions, less inv space, less gear to add armor and magic stuff, being able to choose your stats,being able to quickly switch and use multiple skills, not needing to go into options to be able to place your regular attack back so you dont waste spells on breaking barrels and so much more

Oh god, this is fantastic. Matt Uelmen is fantastic, and I agree that his music defined most of the game's atmosphere. Just hearing this makes me feel like only Diablo II, and those times playing it, can. Thanks for uploading =)

@LAMCL23 Depends on the Assassin.. and it depends if it's with the expansion or not... Most trapsins will use Rare//magic socketed claws or a hoto + SS or perhaps a Jmod with 5 x 5/5 facets... A WW sin will use Chaos//Fury//Foolsmod claw.
@SupraDarky I love the Assassin! :) I'm a girl too, so it was amazing. What was your favorite weapons to use with the Assassin?

Matt Uelmen isn't with Blizzard to work on D3 anymore and it totally breaks my heart. It almost kills my excitement for the game. I also miss the 'classic' roles. Paladin, Sorceress, Amazon; all so unique. Not this obscure, blur-the-lines, classes they've been presenting :(

Hell yeah Necromancer class ftw. Love Diablo's music as a whole, especially the guitar...pretty cool that there was a touch of diablo guitar in Blade's Edge Mountains in WoW.

@MountainWolf100 It was the opposite for me. My little brother LOVED this game. I would watch him play for hours :-) I was about 21, he was about 15.

I'm sure Diablo 3 will have the best hack'n'slash game mechanics, decent graphics and all the good jazz. But it will never have the dark, sinister, brutal atmosphere of the first game. Even the second game was a walk in the park compared to the original. Sadface.

@genesisSOC Well yeah it is meant to be played multiplayer, but MMO means massive amounts of people in the same world. I do wish they'd make a world of diablo someday, but it is probably not going to happen =)

@xSayPleasex Yeah I know. But in the lobby you always had tons of players there and it just always felt like an MMO, but like I said, if you don't count it as an MMO I won't argue with you saying it is.
@genesisSOC the thing is MMO is massive multiplayer online.... where'as D2 limits the game to only 8 players per "instance". The typical meaning of MMO is hundreds if not thousands all playing in the same world instance at the same time. Hope this clears up some confusion ;)
@SupraDarky Right there with you on this one, Supra. For me i know for certain I've spent more hours with this game then any other, It really is a great game including the music ;)
@SupraDarky Heheh, Necromancer. I was stoked when I found a late game knife with Teeth on it. And yeah, the WoW-like graphics are a little offputting. But at least the monk doesn't have the cro-magnon features the WoW humans do.
Almost sounds like the main guitar rifts in the Torchlight theme are lifted straight from this (around 1:00)

@genesisSOC But it is definitely not MMO.... it is just a multiplayer game no matter how great it is.

@SupraDarky Isn't there a version of this that has drums in it? I specifically remember really liking whenever the drums would come in. Is that just a separate track or something?
My brother used to LOVE this game, but I was never really interested in it. This song actually sounds somewhat familliar... maybe because he played it so much, and always had the volume up.
How is this only up there now? One of my personal favorites...I was a diehard Zon player and I put sooooo many hours into this guy!
If you count Diablo II as an MMO, it was my first MMO. It heavily inspired me in the sense of "this is how MMOs should be." I plan to make a worthy MMO similar to Diablo II someday.
fucking hammerdinsonline lol i remember i thought i used to be a badass because someone gave me Sigon's Set when I first started. i played a necro and a blizz sorc for around 2 years. after this, I got into StarCraft. this was such a great game!
Diablo 2 was released at my birthday :P Have fond memories of this game. Really hope D3 will be as good Will always remember the paladin i used when i played togehter with my brother and his wife.

When I heard Torchlight's soundtrack a couple months back, I was hit with heavy nostalgia as I remembered this song :]
So many hours spent on this game, mainly with my Necromancer and my Assassin, but I pretty much played all the classes extensively except for the Paladin. I played a lot with my friend who had a Paladin so I felt like I knew enough about that class already. Diablo III is one of my most anticipated games but I have to admit I'm a bit sceptical, I'm not fond of the World of Warcraft influenced graphic style and I'll miss Uelmen's music which defined the series.
