Kainlarsen Unless it were done right, they would ruin it. It's the echo and it's attempt to sound nasally and hollow like the old viols that produces the creepy atmosphere.

I love this game, but honestly, I've always found it lazy and annoying how all the dark world dungeons have the same damn music, and even after you reach the final dungeon (Ganon's Tower) do you yet again hear the same music. Never liked this game for it's dungeons, not to mention most of the dungeons look and feel the same.
Link's awakening, Oracle games and Minish Cap have distinct tunes per dungeon.

I've been on a Zelda music kick tonight and it's been awesome. Zelda really has some of the best music ever. It can be so Calming, Creepy, Sad, Happy, Angry and just about every emotion that exists. Koji Kondo is a musical god in my opinion. This theme is so creepy yet intense like you've got to make it through the dungeon or else Hyrule is doomed forever.

It's all right, it changes from people to people. It' s not bad tho, it's very good dungeon theme. Not like the new zeldas where the themes are more joyful than anything else. YOu are entering a dungeon, you aren't suposed to go in somwhere hospitable.

My least favorite Dark World dungeon in terms of puzzle difficulty is split between Turtle Rock and Ice Palace >_<. My most favorite Dark World dungeon was always Misery Mire for some reason.

No, Ganon's Tower is the last level of the game. You do fight Ganon inside the pyramid, but you have to beat the tower's boss first. And this plays in every Dark World dungeon, not just that one.

Zelda on console? Wasnt SNES a Console in your opinion? But nevermind that. There are enough good quality temple/ dungeon themes in newer Zelda games. Well you just have to know them though.
This is my biggest gripe with LttP, that this was the same music in every dungeon. IT DOES get old imo.
Even though this theme was repeated in every dungeon, it always seemed fresh, and fitting for any particular dungeon. For instance, it makes me nostalgic about turtle rock as much as the water temple, and so on. Even so, the most fitting was the ice temple, because it was so creepy. Followed by the forest temple.
Lttp is such a awesome game. Im sitting here watching my little brother play it for the first time. Brings back so many amazing memories. Is it just me or is the light world dungeon music so much better than this?

If you played the GCN version, since Link is a guest character. This and the overworld theme (from the Great Bay stage in SSBM) are included.

If memory serves me correctly... A lot of the overworld for Four Swords was similar to ALTTP, as well as the fact that there was a Dark World. I never follow the timeline. <<

This tune always made me nervous as fuck when in dungeons, especially ones with the fucking wallmasters in them...can't stand still or you'll get raped by a giant hand and taken back to the entrance!! FUCK!
@GameMasterGuy Ocarina of Time is great. But it steals the spotlight of other Zelda games all the time. I actually like ALTTP and MM alittle bit better.

I remember playing this game during a rainy, dark night. When I first heard this melody. It fits my memories perfectly.
From a music standpoint, the ostinato in the upper part is a tritone (the quick part) so that means it's diabolical and evil. The bass part is all in semi-tones, which creates a lot of dissonance. This piece is atonal, meaning it has no key signature.
Ocarina of Time is seriously overrated.

What I like about this game is the same thing I like about Super Metroid. There are so many glitches to exploit and sequence breaking techniques allowing for incredible replay value. I love that about this game most. I always utilize Death Mountain Descent to get to the Dark World early and even get the LV3 and LV4 swords before the Master Sword on some runs.

@isy111 i personally think Donkey Kong Country 2 is the best. A link to the past is a great game and to me the best Zelda game but it couldn't reach the fantastic gameplay of good old donkey kong;)

I prefer the Sanctuary Dungeon theme but this is still very memorable. The fast strings really bring great tension and a feeling of danger. This is a game I could play through yearly without ever getting tired of it.
