Wow such nostalgia in this track. I remember changing the orders to strongest to leader, or if the situation was to die to retreat at the point of near death of my units. Also the pause field sound effect right here 0:31 LOL

Anyone find Ogre series similar to Fire Emblem?
There's definitely similarities but FE wishes it could have the world building and political intrigue the ogre series has. It's what elitists pretend the old FE games were.
I need to actually follow through with playing this game. Moving it up my list after hearing this.
Ogre Battle 64 is an excellent game! If you like Final Fantasy Tactics, TacticsOgre, the original Ogre Battle, Fire Emblem, Disciples, or even Shining Force or Vandal Hearts, you will enjoy this game. It is one of the best games on the 64.
Any dislikes that follow, are an example of just how many enemies were 1 shot by the badass who played the game~ :P

Found this on an emulator 10 years ago by complete chance, all because it had the word 'Battle' in it. Damn was I in for a surprise.

The battle anthem for Ogre battle 64 is so inspiring. Ogre Battle 64, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Tactics Ogre were some of the most epic, and hard hitting games I've ever played.

@Riley Fiach Metal Saga is okay. It would have been better if they had kept porting over the game series or had started earlier, just doing 1 game after like a 12 game series is stupid.
This song is so epic! remember me the Final fantasy 4 boss battle, when you know you have to do something to stop them...but...they will fight with all to defeat you!
This game needs to be remastered or something. I REALLY miss playing it, and it was an absolute gem of a game for the N64. Poor Leia...

Riley Morrighan Only thing I would change is I found the alignment restrictions a real pain. I'd hope for a remaster/remake that would lighten up or remove those.

fuck that. get it on the 64. its around 30-40 bucks. (amazon is cheaper then ebay for this game.)
What about countries where the dolar goes x3 and importantion taxes are bigger then any product you want? xD
I loved this game. Recruiting every unit and giving them names, figuring out which units to group together... fun stuff. But the lawful/chaotic mechanic was very annoying.

@Tsumekia Tactics Ogre was pretty unique itself, it just spawned a far more popular franchise.
Cartridges got something special that CDs don't have. I can't really describe it, but it's something with the fact that they were only for games, CDs goes for music and a lot of other things. Cartridges give me nostalgia of the golden days where you rented them. I'm glad nintendo didn't turn to CD with n64 just to stick to the coreography.

Tactics Ogre can't compare to the brilliant and unique gameplay of either of the two Ogre Battles. In the days of N64 and beyond, this game was a masterpiece.

I almost want this just because of the cover. I'm awful at strategy games though.
Is it just me, or do the vast majority of RPGs have a Decisive Battle? And when they do, why is it that the Decisive Battle themes are always amazing?
I rented this game twice in a row as a kid, even if I didn't understand a lot of what was going on.
This game was AMAZING back in the N64 day. You should definitely check it out.

If you haven't played this game yet and have a Wii, definitely check it out on the VC. The PS1 had Final Fantasy Tactics and the N64 had this game, both excellent.
