Did you know that Alexander Brandon, one of the the composers for the first Deus Ex, originally wanted to be a composer for Nintendo and work on Metroid Prime? If you listen to the two soundtracks, you can clearly hear similarities in style.

+HankWank does it? I like metroid prime graphics, they are old but fit very nice... it's like Wind Waker, I feel like the HD version was more of a luxury than a necessity to me. But an HD version would also be a reason to come back to metroid prime, in that sense I agree with you
It's not the graphics, it's the resolution. 480p doesn't cut it on a big screen HDTV.
The trilogy on the Wii has improved resolution. .. Even more if you buy the Wiiu VC version ( only $20 btw .. best $20 you'll spend for a looooong time )
It's the same resolution as GameCube. 640x480.

Why are you even doing this? I know you're being cute, but in case you aren't. Wii is 480p maximum and not native widescreen. That means the pixels are still 640x480, however the TV can stretch the image so the game appears to be widescreen, since the game renders more on screen. The video is still only 4:3 though. Now stop being silly.
I'm not being silly m8 ... The Wiiu VC version is upscaled to even 1080 p ... Granted the native resolution is indeed 480p but there is still a significant difference

Wii games on Wii U are still 480p. The image is indeed upscaled to 1080p, but not the game's resolution. Playing Wii games on Wii U through HDMI is sharper than playing on Wii with component cables and letting the TV upscale it, but that's it.
Just get it on dolphin if you want 1080p

Agree, I so hope that Retro is in charge of the next Metroid. Of course the story and music, which was very important, were made by Nintendo in Japan, but the environments play a huge role in these games. And Miyamoto said at E3 this year that Retro has the highest priority when it comes to developing the next Metroid. :)
Ow I'm sorry I forgot that just cause YOU think so EVERYONE thinks so right?!? how about you learn that it's not cause something follows the formula 100% that doesn't make it bad I enjoyed other m, I know dozens, hunderds, thousands that enjoyed it aswell I loved the references to past games I liked that it explained a lot about why in fusion the government is so against you etc... but never mind that , cause the GREAT PUMAMAN86, decided the game doesn't deserve it so nobody better enjoy it !!
Other M was a fun game .... But it felt like a letdown in comparison to the legend thats the Prime Trilogy ... The story was full of plotholes and don't forget our old friend Adam and his permission to use the Varia Suit and other items ... The character of Samus was degraded from bad ass bountyhunter to a emo ... So that was a big mistake ... That said however : I really enjoyed the gameplay and thought it was still a really fun game in that regard

Well, you clearly have no idea what Metroid is about. Other M strips away everything that made Metroid what is was (Full of isolation, desperation, and most importantly..MYSTERY). TN turned Samus from an intriguing badass, to a melo-dramatic emo child..."Uhhh, you don't get me..". And you can't say the game play makes up for that, because it doesn't. The old adage applies here, less is more.
if you say other m was bad, simply because they overdid how anxious Samus was, then you clearly aren't focusing on the right parts

I do believe people tend to ignore Other M more than hating on it. I mean, EVERY other Metroid game has been GOOD, completely perfect, and I always see either Super Metroid or Metroid Prime 1 on many best games lists. That's enough for me :)
Well yeah, but it seems tons of people have forgotten of how good this game really is, and instead focus on the disappointing Other M. I wish RetroStudios makes another one and not Team Ninja this time around. Imagine arriving on Tallon in HD. Anyway, hopefully this remains a classic in the future.
I believe it has received a lot of atention already :) game of the year and featuring infinite 'best 100 games of all time' Prime is indeed not just a game, but an experience, a second life, and absolute art.

Every time I backtrack into this room to do another area, I can't leave right away. It seems to fit into where I am moving, jumping, attacking. I love this game so much.
2's intro music is better but I like 1 much more in gameplay and soundtracks. I enjoy the unlimited ammunition in the metroids, which is one thing the second in the Prime series took from us. Hated that factor. Between that and the light, dark, light, dark, the game was kinda killed for me. Still a good game though.

I remember I used to play this game sooooo much! It was my favorite game. I played through it so many times!
I thought Corruption was the best of the series. It actually used the motion controls so well that I can't imagine going back to the traditional controls.
Best gamecube game. Sorry melee, zelda, mario, you are all good too but this just blows you away with the music, the art, the exploration.

Echoes was a decent game, but followup games never are better than the originals, at least where Nintendo is concerned. Ocarina > Majora, Waker, Twilight, Skyward. Original Prime > Echoes. Not to say that all of these games are not very nice in their own respects, it is simply that the originals will always be the best.
Skyward Sword had a unique storyline, which I could not play thanks to the shitty Wiimote being the only controller that could be used. When the game becomes compatible to the Gabecube controller, I will become quite obsessed, methinks.
So, you're basically saying that the 2nd best game of the generation isn't very good. Sure, that might be your own opinion, but since almost everyone else agrees it's not a very good example of a 'bad game'. Skyward Sword is more of a love/hate because of its very unique controls. Majority of people love the controls, and most people think that it's the best controls for a game that they've ever played. I guess you haven't played MK7 and SM3DL since you used the wrong names for them.
Just incase you aren't, Super Mario Galaxy is possibly one of the best games of the generation, in fact, it's recieved the 2nd highest reviews (metacritic average) of the generation. Skyward Sword is absolutely fantastic, the majority believe that it's the best Zelda game yet. Super Mario 3D Land isn't as amazing as galaxy, but it sure is fun, also recieving great reviews. And Mario Kart 7 is also great fun, though the Mario Kart formula stays almost identical unlike other Nintendo franchises.

damn, this game deserves more attention. it really is one of the best games ever made. so freaking good. always loved the music, especially when starting up the game.

@xSayPleasex Capcom is a bad example, Nintendo still make by far better games than any Western developer could ever even imagine to create. In my personal opinion anyway. Metroid is probably the best game from a Western developer, and it's the only first person shooter I've extremely enjoyed, which just goes to show how good it is.
@WaterCrystalline Not to mention Shigeru Miyamoto himself is the one responsible for this game being in first-person instead of in third-person.

@halo2redvsblue Was it used or not? Because i've heard and seen that even if a copy is USED, it can still cost $70.00. I got my copy for $38.00 with the manual and artwork, but it was pretty much in mint condition.

This game had a certain feel to it that NO other game has ever had. Total immersion. It wasn't a few corridors and maybe an open room, it was a planet. It was inhabited, it had colour, it had life. The music fit the overall tone of the areas, being ominous without being dark and depressing. Did Gears of War have this same quality? Heck no. Halo? Please. The Prime series is, well... prime.

@SupraDarky Dude, I hear ya. I put it off when it first came out since it looked like a cash in on the series. Once it became rarer and a collector's item, I wanted to get my hands on it, but by then it was too late. Luckily, though, I recently found the last one at a local FYE =P

when i first beat this game i was amazed ... the entire world of tallon is a piece of art un riveled in scale in detail everything had its place and everything had its purpose .... ok i lie can someone please tell me how to get into the room behind that large tree :P
I was wondering which Tallon Overworld theme you'd use for this one, since they're both very memorable. The first one was more relaxing but this one is more atmospheric. I got the Trilogy for $65 on eBay, which is a bargain when you consider that it usually goes for $75-$80 at the least. Money well spent, IMO.

@SupraDarky i bought MP trilogy at best buy about 6 months ago for the normal price. they had lots in stock at my towns best buy, even at a point where all the reviews i watched before i made the purchase said that it was impossible to find anymore. maybe thats cause not many in my town like wii so they had extra. or maybe im just lucky. xD but yea its totally worth whatever price. i love it so much. ive beaten mp1, and am still beating mp2 and 3.
At first, I hated Metroid Prime due to the controls. Luckily the Metroid Prime Trilogy fixed that for me.
Hearing this tune for the first time blew my mind. Metroid prime was a dream come true. I am a huge fan of super metroid and this title made the 8 year wait well worth it. I just wish I had the Original NTSC version in the trilogy, the PAL version ruined the chozo lore for me. Some company unaffiliated with nintendo re-wrote all the lore to sound better but it sucks compared to the original imho.

The planet of Tallon IV will always be the most memorable location in Metroid history, comparing even to the likes of Zebes. Metroid Prime, arguably the greatest Metroid period. Super Metroid being the only comparable game in the series.
I'm curious as to if/when you'll ever get around to Gandrayda's theme in Prime 3 ;)
I own all 3 games but I don't regret, that I bought the Trillogy :D The german Amazon sells the Trillogy now for only 40€ and in the USA it costs 90$! I think a game like this deserves such a high price^^

@SupraDarky I love MP1, played through 3/4ths of MP2 but got stuck and kind of forgot about it (not as good as MP1 I must admit). Never played MP3, cause I don't own a Wii (although I'd like too), and if I did own I Wii I probably would of gotten the MP Trilogy, heheh. But on the point of the music, yeah I have always thought that MP1's music was extremely well done and memorable. I loved the use of electronic sounds along with somewhat organic sounds.
Prime was fantastic and took Metroid in a direction that I really found compelling, I couldn't stop playing.

I thought this game had the most memorable songs in the trilogy when it comes to overworld themes, with music like this one, Phendrana (both versions), the Chozo Ruins, the Lava caves, etc. I really regret not buying the MP trilogy on the Wii when it came out, now I can't find it at a normal price.
