Fun fact: Sherbet Land was originally from Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land. It was a secret world that stemmed out of Mount Teapot.
It's because they did some really bad compression or some bad optimisation of the old music. It was happening with all the old songs in the game.

I remember playing this Christmas Day when I got my N64 and this game. Dad and I had a lot of fun crashing around and stuff on Wario.
This feels incomplete without the penguins in the background.
i remember when i was younger i used to watch my dad play the earlier ones. i actually liked the games back then. now they are just boring.
Hahaha see it's not even that I'm horrible at it. I just can't stand it because it's just a bunch of the same thing over and over again. The original ones were better because they weren't all about killing people in multiplayer. They actually had a story.
i went around one of my CoD Fan Mate's house ane he wanted me to play black ops with him. we went online, i got killed 5 times in the first minute. i was like fuck this crap. i've hated it ever since.
That is something we have in common! I got into it for a little while, then I was like "Wait what the fuck am I playing? All you do it kill people and..... wait that's about it"

I don't have many either. lol I like wifi with some games. Like Minecraft. It's good to play that with your friends online. But I also like going over to friends' houses and playing old school games with them in person. And bleh, COD is horrible. Every game is practically the same concept. I don't see how that franchise ever made it.
oh, i liked wifi. if your a saddo like me with no mates the you can have a blast with it. (i do have mates, but not many of them are mario kart fans. most of them like call of duty)
Wifi really isn't all that important imo, and the bikes weren't really great. I mean it is called Mario KART for a reason. It's go-kart racing, not bike racing. Plus the wheel would get annoying cause i'd only turn it a little bit and it'd make me do a u-turn. I don't mean to be coming off as an asshole by the way, this is a good debate. Actually kind of fun debating video games. haha
bikes, tricks, new characters, DECENT wifi, multiple ways to play. all in mkwii...
How could you like MK Wii better than the first two? It was just a continuation of the same old thing. Double Dash at least offered the partner system and MK 7 offered more customization. But MK Wii wasn't really special at all. I mean I know it's your opinion and all, but just saying.
i didnt like either of the first two. i would go as far to say super mario kart is my least favourite in the series. double dash is my absolute favourite, wii is my second and mk7 is my third.
Which weren't as good as MK 64 or Super MK. Double Dash was ok, but I hated Wii. MK 7 was alright.

Mario Kart 64...Man, I don't think there was no one in my family who didn't want to play that game when I brought it to our house on holidays. Even my mom wanted to play that game with me! *Sigh*...I'm only 15, but that makes me want to say "I miss the old days" lol.
Ah the mid 90's when I was but a child and the 64 was so beautiful. This brings back such great memories :)

I played this so much as a kid with my friend. Excellent game. My greatest weakness to this day are the tracks with ice and penguins. DAMN THEM PENGUINS!
@RENDEEz2k same here with their loud noise, just screaming baw baw, and then hit you off the edge, i always came 2nd, all cause of those damn penguins, but you have admit they are kinda cute, but the mama penguin in Super mario 64, lets not go there.

Everytime I listen to some MK64 songs, a wave of nostalgia hits me. So many hours spent on this game with friends, racing or battling (Block Fort!). I'd even play tons of hours alone trying to beat each of my personal records on the different races.
