Thank you for including this in your list! The music from these games is magical, and deserves to be shared. I cannot count how many times I used to listen to this while it would bring a tear to my eye.
My favorite computer game of all time. Seriously. And its music is so... Well, I'm speechless.

@Urpuss well, not missing much honestly. Decent start to the series, gets the general idea, but subsequent games improve on it in every way
@Urpuss I agree with you leaving 1 out of that ranking XD I've wrestled with a ranking of the games myself, and I've only played 6 a little bit so far, (which may be a bit telling), but I'd argue 5>3>2>4>6 Props to 6 for having a lot more new monsters though

@SupraDarky There is nothing wrong there. I still play hot seat games of HOMM3 with friends. This game holds up to the test of time extremely well. It's easily the best in the series, though for your best VGM check out the water theme from HOMMIV. Heroes 5 is pretty darn good too but the hot seat games are not as fun because of the lack of random maps with teams.

Ah yes!! This brings back memories, Wow!! One of the best PC games I ever played! This one was the best in the series imo!
This... This reminds me of my very early childhood introduction to gaming. T_T I miss my very early life. I should probably stop lamenting the loss of my early childhood and just walk about 5 feet to my left and pick the game up and download it. And thus, that is what I did. =D
One of the all time greats in gaming, it really never gets old. I remember showing it to a roommate of mine a couple of years back. Got up at 5 am to get something to drink, and he was still playing, and had been for 14 hours straight cause he couldnt put it down. Personally i find the Stronghold theme the cream of the crop, but this is a close second :)

Favourite game of the series. Played the demo for years, and then finally got the game and continued my obsession,
yeah this game is severely underrated in terms of music, nearly every piece of music in the game is of such a high standard. must have bought the complete HOMM3 about 10 years ago and im still playing today.....masterpiece.
I used to play this in the 'hotseat' mode with a friend all of the time.

Truly great town theme! I also really enjoyed the Stronghold and Dungeon Theme.

Yea I know the franchise was really good but never got a chance to play..maybe I'll pick this one up and give it a run. Very nice song though and setting.

This is easily my favorite game in the series, from the ones I've played. I spent some time on the single player, but I've played hours and hours multiplayer with friends. There was a period where we would play so much we'd even talk about it at school during lunch hours. We were pretty young though, about 13... right after we played for a year with our Pokemon cards.
