This is one of the songs I point to, to remind people that Stickerbrush Symphony isn’t the only amazing song in DKC2. That song is still great on it’s own but I think the rest of this soundtracks has just been overlooked over the years because Stickerbrush is the only one people talk about most of the time.
We can all agree on one thing. Of all 5 games, DKC2 has the best music.

What a beautiful song...
This track reminds me of an old Christmas cartoon whose name escapes me at the moment.
Love how this song has it's mellow tune, then goes back to that iron clanking together and reminds you how hard the level really is.

If the SNES and Genesis had had the same sound chip, which system would have won? Arguably, the vastly superior soundchip on the SNES tipped the scales.
Genesis' sound chip in certain games with good musicians sounded better than SNES. Just listen to Earthworm Jim's or The Hyperstone Heist, both games have a SNES and Genesis version for comparison.
I always hated as a kid how this song WASN'T included in the soundtrack release! One of the best songs on here!

I think Donkey Kong Country Returns' soundtrack is mediocre. All new tracks are fairly poor, some even annoying, and most tracks by far are rearrangements. The rearrangements are fine, but in some cases I would say the original is actually better!
@607 Palm Tree Groove, Music Madness, Gear Getaway and Furious Fire are poor tracks?
I don't find most DKCR tracks as memorable as the ones from the original trilogy, they ain't bad though. Also DK64 has really good music, not Grant Kirkhope's best. As his best was on Banjo-Kazooie, but a very good soundtrack nonetheless, with songs like Fungi Forest or Frantic Factory

This song has some really awesome varied percussion and bass, but SS has its own unique rhythmic qualities, which are expressed primarily through the octaves in the bass. Neither one of them is really better than the other. I happen to like this one more by chance, but I wouldn't say there's anything putting it above Stickerbrush Symphony in a musical sense.

Stickerbrush is pretty, but I prefer Enchanted Forest Interlude, Disco Train, Hothead Hop and Bayou Boogie over them. Mining Melancholy is great too though.

@nickjomaffa Rare didn't switch to Microsoft, they were bought by Microsoft to be an in house producer. Banjo Kazooie originally was an N64 game, and a pretty good one. They actually produced more 3D games for the N64 then they did platformers for the SNES.

@SupraDarky Yes Nintendo finally had a good E3 unlike the past two years. I was surpsed of what they shown. Tho for me personally Sony's Press Conference better since it had the stuff I care about and I'm a PS3 gamer. Tho i am looking forward to a couple of Wii titles and of course the 3DS with games like MGS 3, LoZ:OoT and Starfox.
@demon5007 Which translates to "new DKC soundtrack maybe hit or miss" I'm sure songs like this one will come off well if the guy who composed for Metroid Prime is on it, but I doubt he'd do other tracks right. There's nothing very concrete on the subject. If it is the guy from Metroid Prime, we might see some good composing or mixing that wasn't expected. That's my thoughts, anyway.
@Zapper101 The way I hear it, Dave Wise didn't do the soundtrack of the SNES version of DKC3. He did, however, do the GBA version's soundtrack, which, as a whole, I find superior.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but David Wise apparently has nothing to do with the music in the new DKC. IGN has an interveiw with Retro. It should still be on the front page at the time of me writing this. Apparently the guy who did the music for the Metroid Prime series is doing the music in this game. Though it looks like they're just remixing songs from the original DKC.

@SupraDarky I'm actually not that excited about the 3DS. The whole 3D coming back has made me a little jaded against the concept. My opinion on the 3DS could change when I get to actually see it. From what little info I got, Nintendo seams to be approaching it more intelligently than other companies, but that's only wishful thinking. Everything else seams promising, though I've yet to find a good vid on Skyward Sword.

Donkey Kong Country Returns was a dream come true. (Well, if it turns out good anyway!) Finally, a real Donkey Kong Country 4, instead of a gimmicky spin off. (Though Jungle Beat was okay)

This game is in my top five 2D sidescrolling platformers with Yoshi's Island and DKC1. My expectations are EXTREMELY high for Donkey Kong Country Returns. I wish all fans the best. Oh yeah, it was also a frequent rental of mine back in the 90s.

Donkey Kong Country is back on Wii! With Retro behind the revival, I'm not afraid at all. I just hope they hired David Wise (could it be the reason he recently left Rare to become a freelancer?), maybe even Eveline Fischer as well. What an E3 for Nintendo, one of the best conferences I've seen over the years. Zelda Skyward Sword, DKC, Kirby, and of course the 3DS. There's even a 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time! And a new Paper Mario too... I could go on and on.
