I can't help but feel bad for Conker. He only got 2 games! Donkey Kong got a few and even Banjo-Kazooie got 5! Conker only had 2. Conker's Pocket Tales, and Conker's Bad Fur Day. Live & Reloaded doesn't count because it's a ramake, Project Spark is a game that got Conker slapped on it so it would sell better (Conker's not even in the main game!) and Young Conker is an augmented reality game (doesn't count. I'm only counting MAIN games). Hell if you think about it.... Donkey Kong came back with Returns and Tropical Freeze. Banjo came back with the spiritual successor with Yooka-Laylee. What does Conker get? Stuck in Microsoft hell with no bright light in his immediate future. No spiritual successor, no comeback/sequel, nothing he's just dead, probably for good. I mean I know he doesn't have the following that say Banjo or Mario had/have but damn it he's still a great character and had an awesome game. He never got his chance to shine, he never got the chance to make something of himself, he has the two games and that's it. He didn't get half the screen time or credit he deserved. Hell there would've been a Conker's Other Bad Fur Day if Microsoft didn't cancel it. They had a story and everything! And instead he's just.......... gone. Really makes you sympathize with the poor critter.

Most of the important people behind Conker (like Chris Seavor Director of the game and voice of Conker) are either still at Rare or at the company they founded Gory Detail. To make a true Conker spiritual successor (like Yooka-Laylee was to Banjo-Kazooie) they'd have to get those people to work on it. They could still do it sure. However I feel that it wouldn't be the same without the people behind Conker in the first place. That's just my opinion though.

I mean after all Banjo was what made people at the time think of Rare as a 'kids only' or 'family friendly' company and thinking it was too similar to Banjo and Donkey Kong they took Twelve Tales and revamped it to what we now know as Bad Fur Day. I understand the current Playtonic team could make a good Conker spiritual successor but I just think to truly make it the best they can (the leap between Good and Great) would be the original Conker team making it. I'm not saying the Banjo team wouldn't do it justice (in fact I'm sure it would be great) I'm just saying the original Conker team could bring to it their own charm and magic.

I don't own anything Xbox anymore, although I do have a perfectly functional, albeit old, Nintendo 64, so I'll be getting that. I've seen what the Xbox version is like though... blood is too realistic, Conker looks too furry, Sloprano was ruined by the censorship (and the Great Mighty Poo looks like mud), and it's more of a third-person shooter than a platformer which is disappointing as the original game was a platformer with TPS elements :|
