So apparently Michiru Yamane also did the music for King's Valley 2. That would explain the existence of this remix :)
I love this! I think it's interesting Konami used it in a much later game of theirs, (not even the same -french fries- franchise) even if that's not entirely uncommon a thing to do :3 I think it is _also_ interesting that they made it sound Israelite (Mediterranean?) at 0:30. Although, considering Israel bordered Egypt to the north since ancient times, it's not entirely out of place... I _do_ wish they used the background/harmony part just before 0:30 from "The Next Pyramid" though, that was my favorite part of the entire song :{ All well, still sounds great! ^ ^

I'm glad this game remixed music from King's Valley 2. Otherwise I wouldn't have heard of that game, maybe even of the MSX!
For real? That's pretty interesting! I first heard about the MSX, Maze of Galious and King's Valley 2 from La-Mulana. I'm a sucker for retro and games (like La-Mulana 2005) that accurately portray the technical limitations of the era the game is supposed to be imitating. And I _looove_ Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and other old adventure game series. So, it was quite by design that I found (and instantly became deeply fond of) La-Mulana.
Series is both plural _and_ singular, so my usage was not incorrect, but it still feels weird to use it like that :p

So which Castlevania on the DS had the best soundtrack? I'm leaning towards Dawn of Sorrow, but with songs like this, Portrait of Ruin is hard to beat!

@gathimest The U.S artwork for Simon Belmont is the same as the original Japanese, not much changed, so it's not an issue of localization or Japanese character designs being foreign to Americans in the 80's...except for Mega Man.
