I started a playthrough of this game for the first time a few days ago and unfortunately my TV has some big black vertical bars messing up the graphics so I'm going to have to wait until I move to finish the playthrough (so that I get a better TV). Regardless, this is one of my new favorite games.

mega man always had the best sound in its day. Even when I was a little kid, and nothing but game play really had an impression on me (hey is was NES, all the games looked and sounded alike), but Mega Man always stood out with fantastic music and sound effects!

Capcom sure knew how to do game music. It wasn't limited to just the Mega Man games...even relatively inconsequential Disney based games like Darkwing Duck had freakin' awesome music.

I always went after Metal Man first...his blades were great against almost everything. That's what was great about Mega Man 2, you really could do the stages in any order. No weapon was a must in order to defeat one of the other bosses. It's a bit too easy, but still a classic.

Well, I think of all of the people who have many fond memories of the classic games, in particular Mega Man 2. Face it, the series hasn't changed much in twenty years, and not surprisingly this has turned a lot of people away, who have simply become bored of the same thing over and over again--and it's understandable, sure. But when it comes down to the music, I have nothing but extraordinarily high praise for the Zero series and the ZX series, and I'm just disappointed that it's so unknown.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous that across the internet everyone seems to feel that the music in Mega Man 2 was amazing and that no current Mega Man game can hold a candle to it, and yet very few of these people have even played current-day Mega Man games.
