This game was my childhood. Twice. Once with the original, and then again a few years later with SMAS.
I've been gaming for years upon years, and this game is still one of the funnest I've ever played.

It is not Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy VII, Halo, or Grand Theft Auto, but Super Mario Bros. 3 that is the best game ever made.

It is! In Mario, the overworld just means the levels that are on land and above ground. The different world maps are different, of course

I love it. When you hear a theme you haven't heard in over 10 years and you can instantly hum with it during the first 2 seconds, it's a true classic. Good addition to the VGM!
Beautiful theme. For the first level music heard in the game its a much more calming level theme compared to earlier games and always made me feel like there was no time limit on the level... That is until 100 seconds and its speeds up frantically arghh!!

i played this game in 2008 for the first time. it's the most amazing thing i've ever witnessed. this is how you know a game is a classic. if 20 years after it's release, it's still just as amazing as it always was

Dang, I'm getting old! I remember when my sister had an NES with this entire series and we'd always play this. She's 24 and I'm 20. This was the first game I've ever played at the age of 3. The game means a lot to me. My NES would always screw up mid-game, and that's why I have the All-Stars cart on SNES. Save functions FTW!

Looking at that image, there's something about the art for older Mario games that just looked fun. Like, the image entirely captures the sense of adventure and excitement you'll find in the game.
Amazing game. Who else loved to do the mini-game battles versus a friend to see who would get the good items? lol

This was one of my first games ever since my sister had a bunch on the NES when I was 3 or so. I like the remix of it in SSB Melee, but Brawl's version wasn't as good.
