This game still holds itself very well to modern simulators. It contains tire scrub, weight transfer, snap oversteer, understeer, and a litany of other things (including great engine sounds) that GT4 missed out on. Probably still my top favourite driving simulator.
GT4 is awesome but this one is unique.
This game had such a fantastic soundtrack. One of the very few racing games I left the music on for.
This track reminds me of Ace Combat, a video game franchise filled with beautiful music like this!

This is a music that gives pure pleasure, ectasy. Speechless on how fitting is for this exquisite track. When l was young, l always hated that track, maybe due how long it was or impatient l was but now, l grown fond of it, maybe finally l'm patient. However l can't never find the time to drive it (in games, maybe one day in real life) due duties. But l learned in this world, that the best is yet to come, meaning, that patience will get you everywhere and it will never hinder or let you go(leave you alone)

You have to play it to see how well it works, it flows very well with the course of the track :D

Ridge Racer Type 4 has the best racing OST imo.
"Paris Rouen" from Forza 4 (which Supra's posted, I think) is another good one.

This track , and this soundtrack is perfect. Racing on Nurburgring (reverse) in the dense fog. Oh the memories just come flowing back :)

Enthusia is quite a bit different from your standard racer. You have to level yourself an your cars up, you cant just grind for cash and buy upgrades, everything has to be earned. By putting yourself in more challenging situations, like using "weaker" cars, you put yourself in a position to earn more XP and level up faster. Using a F1 car to race against civics wont get you much. This in turn raises your ranking, giving you access to better cars and more tracks. It is frustrating but worth it.
Ah cool, thanks for the speedy response. I'm definitely going to pick this up then, even if only for a mere dabble. You see, I've played some of the Gran Turismos and they all bored me to be honest, they aren't what I'm looking for in a racer. But this masterpiece I simply have to experience for myself. It sounds nothing like what I've heard in the GTs.
huge shock, the nurburgring suite plays when you race at, you guessed it, Nurburgring. Enthusia is a great game, on par with Grand Turismo, Massively underated. Still great to this day, hasn't aged one bit.
gran tourismo has more cars( if you count the 500+ variants of the nissan skyline r34 different cars)
Where does this play? In some sort of menu, or in a replay of a race? I'm wondering because if this plays during races, I'll have to check the game out some time.
7 years late but if you still care and didn't just look it up, this is during the race but just on one track as each track has a unique song.

It's very subtle, but at around 8:23 I'm reminded of the castle theme from Super Mario World. If a song reminds me of that masterpiece, it's certainly great in my book.

I know huh? It must be weird racing to this song, like the adrenaline is trying to build up but its being held back by this peaceful song. There are a lot of other good songs like this in Supra's list if you haven't checked them out yet.

My stomach is liking this a lot.
For people who can stomach very long songs, this is an ambient masterpiece by Akita you can easily drift to. The buildup is just so great, my favorite part definitely starts at 6:15.
