The music is the best thing about the game. And this track is the best thing about the music. Game itself was huge at the time, but I think Mario Land 1 has aged better. 6 Golden Coins hat pretty dull level design and is way too easy.

I totally forgot about this game and this song. I stumbled across this theme again on the super mario crossover and actually shouted "OH!" as all the memories came flooding back.
remembered super mario land 2 being the first game i had in gameboy back in 1996. A lot of nostalgia and memories came back upon hearing this music:P Also the game never got boring, having to replayed it many times, just to redo the levels in the order i liked.

This song lies somewhere between the key of D and E-flat. Sometimes I hear it in either, it's weird that way.

It's crazy how this game's box art itself seems to bring back memories from the entire game! I can just picture everything in my mind, even though I didn't play for such a long time... The Hippopotamus with the bubbles... the 3 little pigs of different shapes, the giant Mario doll with all the toys, the Halloween levels and the space levels with all the stars... What a great game! (^^)

This is probably the Gameboy game that holds the most childhood memories along with Link's Awakening and Final Fantasy Adventure. I couldn't say how many times I finished this game back then until I lost the cartridge around 1997. Haven't played it since so there's a lot of nostalgia.
