These type of games were never really given any official label to define their genre; they have merely been referred to as BreakOut-style games and Arkanoid clones through the decades, borrowed from the titles of those original games. The best label for these type of games would probably have to be the term blockbuster. :)
I highly recommend you delve further into game music. It's a truly unique area of the musical spectrum and one that I've devoted myself to listening to since I was a child. If you'd like some soundtrack recommendations, I've got a wide variety to choose from in mind: Okami The Binding of Isaac The entire Kingdom Hearts series Bastion Kirby and the Crystal Shards and many more :D

What im liking about this OSt is its great emphasis on bass. You can hear it so well and it just makes the song that much greater
