There's a band called The Megas that add vocals to megaman songs and plays the songs with rockbased instruments. Look them up if you're a Mega Man nerd who doesn't know about these guys!

That's what I did. I only own Mega Man 1 and 2 for the moment, I'll buy the rest when I'll be done with these two. I have no regrets, that game is so awesome. Listen to that guy.

I will never forget this level. Very short and easy, but so surrealistic. Not to mention the epic music. I played this game to death in kindergarten. One of the most memorable levels in gaming history.
Ha ha, that's amazing, though it's apparantly more common than you think. Typing in Arc13 into Ctrl + F found me someone else who has a similar origin. Still, always a chance...who knows?

@minusjason Some people pick up a game, but don't get seriously into gaming from their first game, but later on they become hardcore gamer thanks to some other game they play. So I merely wished to emphasize this got me started on gaming as in my first game AND what got me seriously into video games.
@Arc13 Haha, I don't know why you need the "period." Of course it's what got you started on gaming. It was your first game.
@SupraDarky Wily Stage 1/2 is a great tune.. heck, MM2 in general has a great soundtrack. Just irks me a little that many other songs in the series are overlooked in favor of MM2.. like many of the songs from MM5 (Charge Man, Napalm Man, and Stone Man to name three). Skull Man and DIve Man from MM4 are other examples. Oh well.. :) Glad you have some of the tunes from the other games on your list, including the aforementioned Skull Man.

I was playing this the other day, the nostalgia gland (well thats what i call it) was working overdrive to keep up with the sweet gaming goodness.
i seriously love this game. it's my favorite game in the series and one of my favorites of all time. i think it's soundtrack isn't nearly the best in the series though. all the themes are good and one is even in my all time favorites but most of them never really stayed in my mind.
I got this on VC not too long ago. I chose Bubble Man's stage first, then this.
MM2's music is good, but the only one that really stands out for me is Air Man's Stage.

Mega Man 2 and 3...all had great music. But so did 6 actualy. I really digged 'Yamato Man's Theme' on that one.
Oh my god, compare the beggining of this song to "Mad Forest" from Castlevania III D: Wikipedia says CV3 is from 89, and MM2 is from 88... ...eh.
Started gaming? 3 years old. First game? Megaman 2. First level? Flashman. I thought he was Anti-Megaman(who thanks to th cover art I thought was a super cop). Almost 20 years later, and I still look back to this and think "This is what got me started on gaming - period."

Ahh yes. Mega Man 2, the game with the best 8-bit music ever made imo! This one os not as good as Dr Wily 1st stage, but it's still awesome!
