Well that was just it. They didn't know anything about it. I just thought it would somehow make me the cool kid, but all I got was my brother yelling at me saying "What the hell are you doing?!". That's why it embarrasses me writing about it because I think of that moment.

Though I'm a huge Mario fan, I never had an SNES. One summer we visited my Mom's friend for a 1 week. I discovered 3 things: 1 She had Super Mario World. 2 The PREMIERE of Cartoon Network. 3 I was super allergic to cats. In 1 day one of my eyes swelled shut. I could hardly breathe, and I ITCHED. When my sister was awake, we watched Cartoon Network and LOVED it. When the TV was free I played the HECK outta Super Mario World beating it 100% Bonus levels too! All with my one good eye! In one week!

When I beat this game, my dad was proud of me, because I had beat it without his help for once. I was maybe... 5? 6? So this was about 1996... good times.... Of course he was even MORE impressed when I beat Starfox, THAT game gets tough.

If I ever have kids, I know that they're going to grow up playing video games. And I'll be damned if they end up becomming those whiny kids playing FPS all day on Xbox and raging and crying over little things. I want them to grow up playing awesome shit like this. I guess all I'm saying is that I want them to have an awesome childhood like I did. Retro gaming is special in some sort of way, a charm that today's modern games don't have.
This game is an anthem to simplicity. Gameplay is simple, graphics are simple, music is simple. That's makes it a true masterpiece.

hell to the fuck yeah son! i remember when i was 5, i counted how many times i beat the last boss, i stopped counting at 79, so right now i KNOW its been well over 100 times. this is the most nostalgic song in the WORLD for me.

Probably the catchiest theme from the Super Mario series. Really love to play this theme on the piano =D Made my day...
At the conclusion of a long journey, Mario returns home recalling all the adventures that he had along the way. The path was long and hard, and there were some good moments and some frustrating moments. Slowly the curtain draws and so ends the long adventure and also the end of an era in gaming. This is my #1 favorite videogame song of all time.

Where I live my friend's mom ran a convience store and I remember he was the very first person on our town to get an SNES and Mario. Was so cool to be able to see this game before so many others did. Laid me flat on my ass how cool and fun it was.

I've played this game for the better part of my life and it was only recently that I actually beat the game with 100%. I've only ever beaten Bowser once, and I've only ever heard this song once. This makes two. It is truly a grand game, unparalleled in its time and even now.
