Am I the only person which thinks that super paper mario is the greatest game ever created? Anyone? Just me?
best "antagonist", best plot twist, best ending, best partner, best game on wii, best game of that gen. 10/10 would pay for sequel, would pay for Count Bleck in Mario kart and/or Smash Bros.
I'm so glad someone agrees with me. The plot is amazing, intriguing and different to other mario games.not to mention, the graphics are stunning.having to let you go 2d AND 3d doesn't really takeaway from the real paper mario field.but then it also stays 2d so most hardcore mario fans can enjoy this masterpiece bit by bit.Also, you can play as the 4 main mario characters, each with something that makes it unique.each world is also no where near cliche.the music is quite possibly the best in any mario game, (just barely beating mario and luigi dream team) if not any game ever! And even then there's so much else to do! The villains are a lot better than any other mario game to date.each has there own personality. Mimi is a creepy but pretty defensless villain which can pack a serious punch of pain to the opponent, count bleck is a miserable villain who seeks to create new worlds, but instead tries to end life for good. Chuck ( I think his name is) is a powerful defensive beast of a villain which always tries to get in your way.and, my favourite video character of all time, Dimentio.This guy is fun, energetic, yet his amazing comeback to count bleck has never ceased to amaze me.he has always left you wandering, why is he there?he doesn't really do ANYTHING until the end, which gives him an AMAZING build up of a final battle.And a secret side kind of plot which could make the greatest gamer cry, this is easily my favourite Videogame of all time.and +, CHUCK FOR SMASH BROTHERS THO?

Super has been used in every major Mario game since SMB, and has not been used in any non-platformers.

Honestly I loved this game, they did a great job with it. My friends were complaining about it not being like 1 and 2, well its not really supposed to be like 1 and 2. Its SUPER PAPER MARIO, just like how Mario Bros is different than Super Mario Bros. For all those who want another Paper Mario game like 1 and 2, this year guys. Paper Mario 3(D)
I like to consider this a spinoff. As a stand alone game it wasn't bad, it had a good story. Comparing SPM to TYD is like comparing apples and oranges.

This game was more of a sidescroller than an RPG, so I don't see how you can compare the old paper marios to this one. I liekd the older ones better because I like RPG's more and they also took longer to beat.
I never got into Paper Mario 64 and I played a little bit of The Thousand Year Door, BUT THIS ONE ABSOLUTLY ROCKED! The way you could switch dementions put a whole new outllook on gaming everywhere. And it was just really fun lol

I agree, people come up with very stupid criticisms for this game. I found real-time battles to be just as fun as turn-based ones, not to mention that Super Paper Mario as a whole was an improvement from The Thousand-Year Door and almost as good as Paper Mario 64.
because the first 2 games were turn based RPGs, are you dense?!? When a game takes a radically different turn, people need to get used to it. I liked super paper mario as well but, I also liked the turn based combat from the first two games.
Because it doesn't feel right. When the previous two entries in the series involves pure RPG turn based combat, and the third game goes and becomes a platformer with a few carryover RPG elements, fans of the old series are going to complain.

I liked super paper mario. It annoyed me at first. But it started to grow on me.
You should buy It, But rent It first just in case.

I know someone who's finally working on a clean rip of this game. This song isn't too bad though, since you only hear it during one second.
I really wish someone would upload clean rips (no sound effects) of the SPM tracks on YouTube someday.
my opinion is that this game is okay. it's more of a novelty. the platforming wasn't as satisfying as a super mario game and the rpg mechanics aren't as good as a paper mario.
